LOL at Hearn acting like he's the one in control of all this and Koogan lapping it all up as usual. Eddie's not dealing with some tinpot opponent British management team now.

AJ should snap the jab and step to the side or back.


This isn't Mike Tyson who had the feet to go with the hands and could cut guys down on the move.


However considering AJs physical advantages and Ruiz's limits, it's really a testament of how bad of a boxing brain AJ has.

If you have any boxing IQ at all there is simply NO reason to lose a fight in that way to a guy you have that many physical advantages over.

This wasn't a freak 1 punch KO caused by a single mistake. The guy can't box and was winning fights with his physicality.

If you're that much bigger, taller, a great athlete as well then the skill gap truly needs to be huge to get systematically chopped up by a Ruiz


So tbh I don't count Ruiz out in a rematch.

 

AJ had very favourable scoring even in the US. AJ fights long and Ruiz will slip the jab just like he successfully did multiple times in their first fight. That was a 7 round fight, AJ won a single round. Right move to not fight Ruiz and regroup, at this point Ruiz trounces him again.

 

If AJ don't rematch, the UK public will turn on him.

 

1. Ruiz already dropped Joshua by countering a jab in the last round.
2. If Joshua pulls straight back, like you suggest, he’ll get dropped just like the second knockdown.

 

Wise move if true. And to be honest, trying to win the belts back one-by-one creates more big fights and more £££££

 

He can roll his shoulder or cover the side of his head like ken Norton and evander Holyfield.

Or he can just step off to the side like Lennox Lewis and Muhammad Ali.


Joshuas jab got countered because 1. He has no boxing IQ and throws the wrong punches, the wrong way at the wrong time and because by the last round his legs were gone and he was gassing(as always).

A guy his size and build should be able to comfortably outbox a guy of ruizs size if he's really an elite world champion.

The only exception is if the smaller guy is an ATG Like Frazier, tyson, Marciano, dempsey.
Ruiz is not that. He is limited.
And unlike Buster Douglas(who put in an ATG Performance in tokyo) he didn't actually do anything he didn't show before to beat AJ. AJ just looked utterly clueless and showed shockingly poor punch resistance and recovery

 

That is smart. Aj will get retired if he fights Ruiz straight away.

 

Joshua is too old to learn shoulder rolls and crab defense, especially with his probable next opponent being Andy Ruiz.

What Joshua will need to do is circle counter clockwise from first to last bell, even at the expense of landing his right hand.
