Seriously who has he beat, Jennings is his best win. He did beat up a 6 time beaten Thompson who was 45 at the time. Seriously, yes he was a good ameture but his pro record is paper thin to say the least. He is one of the most over rated pros of all time, so many people try and build him up for their rhetoric. I've seen him stink the place out ala malik Scott, dave Allen or the awful fight versus Travis Kauffman. Yet he gets another shot at wilder, almost laughable.
Hugely overrated as an amateur too. If he wasn't Cuban then he wouldn't of been given this bogeyman tag.
Prime PED Ortiz would whoop Wilder and Joshua at the same night. Ortiz in 2019 is just a great boxer who is very nice to watch and excited to see in the rematch with the Bumsquad. Ortiz ftw!!!
He beat Magnito in a game of chess in central park. Beat up a couple of old age pensioners in the retirement home, beat up a injured bomb squad member on the violent streets of Alabama.
Ortiz is a nice guy and he's one of the few HWs on the planet in this abysmal current era of late starter Herman Munster-esque wooden behemoths, windmilling lanky basket ballers, and walking jiggling blubber blobs who actually possesses a modicum of skill. However, his resume is as barren as a desert and his head is and always has been a magnet for right hands, which is something Serge has scientifically proven beyond dispute. And he's only fought one puncher his entire career as well. His best win is Bryant Jennings for goodness sake, followed closely by a Tony Thompson who is even older than he is or Malik ''Mike Tyson'' Scott. Those three savage non-punchers couldn't demolish a Wendy house between them if they were armed with sledgehammers for goodness sake. But Ortiz stopped this * insert the names of common opponents he shares with other top fighters * faster than so an so or who so and so couldn't stop OK well that's a two-way street and this is just one instance I can cite 1-0 Usyk TKO 4 Epifanio Mendoza *Usyk scored 2 KDs* 14-0 Luis Ortiz WDQ 7 (low blow) Epifanio Mendoza, the only time Mendoza hit the canvas was from a vicious low blow
You mean what modern fighters have Luis Ortiz beat? Well he only beat Bryant Jennings. But Ortiz beat tons of guys back doing the bare knuckle boxing days. He was still kind of old then, had grey hair and a bad hip.
How dare you sir! If Ortiz is not a super duper fighter then Wilder has no victories over a decent opponent in his entire career!
Great thread. Don't forget he is also on blood-pressure meds. He was looking good when on the juice, and he would have been a tough match-up for Wladklit because he has some power and a southpaw stance. But no, he is no super contender or anything like that. He is an old guy with heart problems who has a couple of passable, if tainted wins.
