Thurman’s fleet footedness is gone. His near perfect timing from Porter fight is also gone. He hit his peak in SP and DSG fights and lost it over the lay-off. I doubt he will ever be a champion again. Also, I was never sure what to make of his resilience and heart before, but he proved he is a true warrior in this fight. Hat’s off to him for keeping it real in defeat.

As for Manny, well how many athletes can perform at this level at 40+ y/o? But don’t get it twisted, he should not be going near Crawford or Spence. His stamina is not there anymore. He was fading by 8th or 9th round. I’ve never seen that before from PAC. A PAC from even few years back would have closed the show in the 10th when he folded Keith over. He simply didn’t have enough in the tank to seal the deal. He also waited too long to pounce on Keith, indicating his killer instinct is leaving him.

If I was given a chance to make the call, I would either have PAC:
    1. Fight Mikey at 140
    2. Fight Lomachenko at 135 (yes, I think he can make the weight just fine)
    3. Retire and leave on a high note

I would hate to see him hurt against a big, strong, young and prime welter.

Thurman did ok in round 10 especially after nearly cut in half with the body shots from Pac..
but based on how hurt Thurman was, it’s definitely a Pac round.

    It wasn't close or controversial.

And Manny had he really pushed for it, could have forced a stoppage in the 10th, he had Thurman badly hurt from a body shot. Also he shoo him up pretty badly in the 5th IIRC, had he maintained that pace in the 6th, he could have probably taken him out as well.

And yes.... for God sake's watch it. It's kind of an important match. And yeah, it was DAMNED entertaining. Well worth a watch, almost FOTY contender.

Well as good as Manny is, he's never really been a great finisher. Look at how Ray Leonard or Kelly Pavlik when they got their man hurt always knew how to precisely go for the kill.

The way Manny used to get stoppages was just throw enough volume until they fold. But in the higher weights and as he gets older he hasn't been able to maintain the volume.

Well JMM had unbelievable recuperative powers. Not necessarily the hardest to floor. But had tremendous self belief, stamina and conditioning And his defense was good so he rarely took or actually, never did take prolonged beatings. So he was that pesky guy who was always around.

TBF he did get stung to the body badly, like he was wincing in pain going around the ring. If Pac managed to land a few more bodies would likely have been a stoppage.
