I see Matthew Macklin putting lots of blame on Quigley being mismanaged. Good management won't fix what's wrong with Jason I'm afraid. He just doesn't have what it takes, sorry. He really doesn't have a single attribute which stands out. Everything about him is "ordinary". Can anyone name a single area of bixing that Jason is really strong in? I've watched him fairly closely and i can't.

Lets hope Ward dosent go same way as Nevin and signs with a big promoter. Nevin has to be the worse managed fighter in the history of Olympic finalists, absoloutley shocking pro career, I know he hasnt helped himself at the start but there is fighters with virtually no amatuer career getting bigger and more fights than him in Ireland.

Quigley hasnt the stamina or fitness thats a few fights now where he has come up short with stamina issues.

All the predictable winners...the b side of this event was brutal to be honest.
I understand this was the promoters first delve into pro boxing from Maui thai but there is only so long the public can pay to watch white collar fighters against novices from eastern Europe.

Just to reiterate I found Macklins attack on Quigleys management team baffling. No matter who was manager at some point Jason would have to get past a guy like Johnson in order to break into title contention. Mack must and...does .. know this. An honest look at Jason's past performances would tell even a casual observer that the lad boxed to the best of his ability against Johnson and he lost because he plainly and simply isn't all that good. The only hope for a Quigley win was if Johnson was really badly washed up. He wasn't and the rest is history. Where does Jason go now? If you're not beating the 35 year old fringe contenders......

At first I felt his timing was just bad then I heard that Jason has refused his offer to take over as his manager now it reeks of sore grapes.
I agree the first legit world level opponent was always going to have too much for the donegal man

Sour grapes even! :) but yeah that’s a likely explanation...though to be fair to Macklin he probably does have good connections on the East coast .. and Quigley decision to go to. The west coast was always questionable. The East coast has the strong connection to Ireland...the west coast doesn't.
But no matter where he based himself he wouldn't have succeeded without the talent. Macklin didn't address this at all. Jason's performances haven't been all that great overall. There will always be guys like Taureano Johnson around the fringes of the world title scene. You have to beat guys like him as part of your rite of passage to top level. Jason doesn't appear able to beat the Taureano Johnsons of this world and that means he has to ask himself where to from here....

Just rewarded Quigley v Johnson! It was a hard watch! Brutal. Quigley took a mammoth beating in there. Should have been pulled out after 6. He was dying, gasping, clueless. Taureano Couldn't miss him. How many times did tj land the same short chopping right hook? He couldn’t miss Jason with it. When he went leftie in the sixth it was like shooting fish in a barrel. Jason Couldn't cope at all. It was even worse than I thought first time. Normally ingle gym guys are extra fit ( nudge nudge) but Jason looked like an tired old man in there. No way back from that I'm afraid. :(

I remember people saying the same about Andy Lee after his first loss and we all know how successful he was afterwards.

Andy could punch. Opponents can just walk straight through Quigley.

Does anyone know what the story is with Con Sheehan? He seems to have just fallen off the face of the earth in terms of boxing
