WBC Interim Champion of the world with mandatory.

Well done Dillian, you grinded hard. You kept improving with every fight since that loss to AJ, you grew a humongous fan base, quite literally the favorite fighter of many fans today simply for your attitude towards the sport, and your entertainment inside and outside the ring.

In the short term, the interim status may not mean much, but it is still an achievement, and it still a milestone. Whyte is the new mandatory. Whether he get's his shot soon, or later on, whether he loses or not, he has done well for himself and continued to surprise naysayers to the very end in grabbing that W. Who will bet against you next Whyte?? We shall see.

Join me in congratulating Whyte on his string of successes, some which where close, controversial, none the less impressive.

Leave your saltiness and hate at the door please, thank you.

    LET'S GO BABY!!!??! LET'S GO!

You might get stick for this thread, but kudos for sticking by your man. That took guts during the times he was struggling past Chisora and looking mediocre against Allen and Lewison.

Whyte's a great example of a fighter who pulled himself up by the bootstraps and grafted for all he was worth, and good on him for that. He's not the world's prettiest fighter, or the most electric personality, but he clearly has a genuine desire to be the best, and you can't ask anymore of a fighter than that.

This is the kind of opinion I can respect, and agree with. It's honest.

Are you affiliated with Whyte in any way? Real life acquaintance or distant relative perhaps? It's cool if you are, I'm just curious.

Dillian is an old school warrior and earned his title shot the hard way.
However he is past his prime .
These last 4 wars clearly took their toll .
1 year ago the Wilder fight would have been a 50/50 .
Now i fear he will get knocked out because his punch resistance is not what it used to be .

I like Dillian. He reminds of one of my London buddies; fat and rude, and ready to throw slaps.

    The laughable cult of Whyte.
'He so deserving, he being mistreated, world so unfair, poor Dillian! What more he have to do!'
What's so great about what he's done?

He lost to a far worse Joshua than Ruiz just beat.
He beat a far worse and ill-prepared Dave Allen that Price just schooled.
He barely beat a lesser Chisora than Fury/Pulev handled with ease.
He beat post surgery shot to pieces Helenius.
He barely beat comeback Parker via headbutt concussion.
He beat Lucas Browne who'd been KO'd that week and who Dave Allen KO'd in a few rounds.
He beat a small heavy who KO'd past it Jennings, big deal.

Clowns think this is some amazing journey? 'But he fights anyone! He a warrior!' You mean like the time he ducked Pulev in Bulgaria and then Hughie Fury took the fight with a cut?

    The laughable cult of Whyte.

Does it matter? It's an internet forum, let's address the meat of the content, not the author. Cheers

His punch resistance isn't what it used to be? LOL

You know he got knocked down as a result of crossing his legs, he has terrible leg movement, HE did get caught but he wasn't as hurt as some people think he was. Rivas can punch in case you didn't know. And you remember that shot that KOd Spilka this weekend from Chisora? Yeah Whyte took 23 rounds of those shots and still in there.

Sure. Whyte is on a great winning streak, he fully deserves his title shot, both vs Wilder and vs AJ-Ruiz winner. I thought he'd lose to Parker, I thought he'd lose to Rivas and I think he'll lose to Wilder. That means he'll probably win a belt soon.

Credit where it’s due, without doubt Whyte has earned his title shot three times over compared to some fighters who get their shot. Who does he challenge?

I’m not a Wilder fan at all but can honestly see Wilder catching him early and blowing him out. If TF wins the rematch against Wilder I can see Whyte dragging Fury into a brawl and making it uncomfortable but inevitably see Fury winning a UD. Then you’ve Ruiz and AJ are tied up with each other with urgent mandatories against Pulev and Usyk impending. I just don’t see Whyte winning a strap

The stars would have to be aligned for it, and I am hoping he get's his shot soon enough.

Do you think Fury can weather the body shots Whyte landed on Rivas?

Fury is taller and skinny fat by comparison to Rivas who is very stocky and shielded with layers of dense muscle. Fury has a long torso which ain't hard to reach. Doe Fury quit from those shots? Does he slow down enough for Whyte to left hook him?

Yeah congratulations to him. I've always liked him and it's such a shame how he's been denied a shot at a title due to politics.

Really good performance on Saturday and I'd say he's safely the most improved heavyweight in the world out of the top guys over the past 4 years or so.

Joshua looked a fair bit better than him in 2015, but Dillian has caught up. In a theoretical matchup, I might actually back Whyte over Joshua because I think he'd be able to get inside his head and beat him before they step inside the ring. Much closer fight than this time a year ago anyway.

I'd still favour Fury and Wilder fairly comfortably over Whyte, but even then wouldn't write Whyte off.

Really glad he looks to be finally getting his title shot, deserves it.
