He KOed Jennings in 2015, then knocked out Thompson and widely outpointed Scott in 2016. Those three fights (two really, since a lot of people didn't rate the Scott win) are his claim to fame. Back then I'll admit he looked the goods, and was expecting big things of him. Unfortunately, since then his win column consists of Daniel Martz, Dave Allen, Razvan Cojanu, Travis Kauffman and Christian Hammer. Of those names the best, Hammer, took him the distance and bloodied his nose. That's a highly underwhelming run and any excitement fans once had in him has well and truly waned by now. Add in the fact that he blatantly bottled it with the Joshua shot and there's really very little to shout about.

You'll still occasionally hear him called bogeyman by clueless or trolling fans, or fans trying to big DW up, but it's a tag that basically carries very little weight nowadays.

Ortiz beat the **** out of a prime Jennings who is about the same level as Rivas. Safe to Say he doesn't stand a chance against the mighty King Kong.

That's no problem, the next time Rivas has a fight, you and me can bet on it.

Tony Thompson was in his 40's and was never anything special even when he was younger. Bryant Jennings was a decent guy but never a elite world glass fighter. I never though Ortiz was anything good. He was/is always out of shape. Extremely slow and for a guy who was suppose to be a top amateur star he never looked that skilled to me. Well Luis Ortiz was in the amateurs back in the 1800's so things have changed since then.

Hey guys! Wake up! Ortiz was the only one together with Fury who put Wilder in serious troubles (almost sent him to the canvas...almost won the match by TKO...he was ahead on points before being knocked out)!
Truly want discuss the high level of Ortiz?
Ok, he's next to 40s but has power, chin and heart.

Lol Eric Molina had Wilder in trouble and Molina is a bum. Harold Sconier had Wilder badly hurt and Sconier is a bum. Tyson Fury never had Wilder in any trouble and just ran. Ortiz is still so old that he used to hang out with Adam and Eve and he is morbidly obese.

Ok, sure all the members of this appreciate forum are knowing in the HWs it needs only one punch to win also against a great champion. For example all should know that if David Price throws an accurate right hand agaist Wilder he could go to the canvas and remain there for days.
Said this...possible many can't neither distinguish who are the boxeurs of level A, those of level B, etc.? Actually Fury is the best. He's not an hard puncher like Wilder but has a good punch, the best defense and the best chin.

I'm not saying they're great achievements, but these fights are what gave him his rep in the first place.

Y'all questioning who he beat, but back in the day he regularly put the hurt on his Cuban squadmate Teofilo Stevenson.
It was touch and go for who to represent Cuba at the major tournaments, but sadly for him Stevenson got the nod over him.

Lol Tyson Fury has the best chin? He as almost knocked out by light punching Steve Cunnigham. Tyson Fury has the best defense? You mean getting in the ring and running? Tyson Fury beat a washed up Wlad by running and landing 86 punches in 12 rounds and then ran from unskilled Wilder and landed 84 punches in 12 rounds. What type of crack are you smoking? I assume you are a biased Brit boxing fan.

Also if a heavyweight can't punch then he can't punch. Every heavyweight isn't knocking out ever other heavyweight with one punch.

Does his TKO win over Pythagoras at the Ancient Olympic Games count?

Fury has the best chin. Sent to the canvas two times by Wilder and for 2 times got up. Wilder and Price have got the heaviest hands in the HWs. Everybody knows it.
