Prime Mike Tyson vs Brock Lesnar

Wasn't there rumours of Lennox Lewis doing some sort of fight with Brock Lesnar? Or was that just made up WWE fantasy?

 

Yes, during Lesnar's original WWE run.

Lewis turned it down because he’d have been expected to wear boxing gloves while Lesnar wouldn’t.

In a boxing ring Tyson would seriously hurt him

 

I was replying to the guy that said Lesnar has a great chin. No MMA chin would take Tyson's power without beibng knocked out COLD.

 

If Tyson catches him in the two seconds it will take Lesnar to run across the ring and take Tyson down he has a chance. Lesnar from what I remember (not a huge mma fan) did not take punches well at all. That being said his entire game centers around getting his opponent to the ground and playing the drums on his face, with Tyson having zero take down defense that happens here.

 

Probably WWE, but I do know Steven Seagal wanted to spar with Lennox though!

 

Tyson`s feet were really quick.

 

Ridiculous. He was scared to get hit. Did not have a fighters mentality at all.

 

The fight against Shane Carwin made me believe Brock has ATG chin. Hard to shake that impression despite what happened afterwards.

 

Brock won that fight due to an incompetent referee. That fight rightfully should have been stopped towards the end of round 1 when Carwin was unloading on a turtled up Brock on the canvas.

 

Yeah, I've seen quicker stoppages. Just thought it was very impressive how Brock came back to win.

Still reckon Mike Tyson is doomed when Brock Lesnar takes him down.

 

Lesnar. But if Mike had 6 months to train TDD he could win.

 

Be needing a lot more than 6 months TDD against a D1 wrestler, some of the guys he rag dolled in UFC had well over 10 years of TDD.

 

Watch the fight and look a bit more into the background of this one. Sylvia agreed to stand with Mercer for this one(gentleman's agreement) and threw a lazy low kick which Mercer easily countered(even a low level MMA he could) with an overhand right. Had Sylvia shot in Mercer wouldn't have had a chance. Mercer was taken down and subbed by Kimbo FFS. Without ANY MMA training Lesnar would clearly be the favorite against Tyson who would have no clue what to do when Lesnar shot in and drove him to the mat.

 

It's amazing how clueless and intellectually dishonest some people on here are. It's not an insult to Tyson to suggest that he would be at any extreme disadvantage competing against a gigantic elite wrestler without even cross training for the bout. Even Mike himself who appreciates MMA has no issues with acknowledging this FACT.
