In terms of having an aura of invincibility and fear factor GGG was the closest thing to the Tyson reign?

Surely Pacquiao and Roy Jones in the 2000s and 1990s are there

Kostya Tszyu at 140 was a beast

Who did he look invincible against?
He looked much more ordinary against top opposition.

Kovalev at his peak LOOKED more scary to me because of what he did to Hopkins and Pascal who at the time were top Guys in the division.
He looked like sonny Liston, and you knew he was an evil guy outside of the ring as well.

    RJJ in the 90s
    Pac inthe 2000s
    Duran in the 70s
    Tyson in the 80s
    SRR in the 40s-50s
    Louis in the 40s

    Most dominant runs in history

Actually lomachenko to me is the most consistently "unbeatable" looking guy of the last 5 years and he did so against several different styles

I think he means in spooking his division. A lot of the fighters bought into the Golovkin hype. As for the invincibility thing, less so and he was definitely seen as a much more pleasant man outside of the ring.

Tyson was marketed as feral. A ferocious animal looking to destroy anything in his path. GGG was sold as a devastating boxer puncher.

Canelo put an end to GGG's supposed aura of invincibility. Beat him at his own game Mexican Style.

    Jesus wept.

When did the fanboys take over this asylum? You literally can't discuss anyone without some rabid super fan coming in and shoehorning in some clumsy post trying to make their favourite fighter look better.

Good question as it's, possibly inadvertently, disingenuous; Tyson's reign was, prison withstanding, --before the REAL TOP PRIME, guys turned up. Sure he was awesome but it was at the end of the fatman, mediocrities, passed it or pumped up legends period (can't really call so mamy variables an era ) I'll debunk the over elevated base line starting before starting on GGG.....and read the question properly, which I didn't. Duh! on me.....'aura of invincibility and fear factor'-- teach me to scan read and misinterpret. No Tyson, Liston and Foreman had it to a far greater degree. Perhaps it's a HW thing....(but I need to look before I leap...typed too much to delete without the sense of wasted time and effort)

An unbeaten knockout artist with ferocious power that came in an era that wasn’t the best, dominated for a good few years and many guys ran away from or were beaten before they even got in the ring. GGG closest to Tyson in that regard?

I’m not talking about fighters that domninated and couldn’t be beaten or else it would be Mayweather, Calzaghe, Loma etc. It’s about the perception that they were a monster. Loads of people came in confident vs Floyd and got outclassed. They didn’t fear him. Pac was great and already had lost in his career.
