You would question Firpo for sure, but you would conclude that Wills was a better technician than Wilder.
For openers that have the same reach. 74" Langford really wasn't small, he was very compact. I think he hit harder than Ruiz. The hand speed is hard to compare Both had fast hands. Skill wise, Langford is more accurate. Joshua does not have a fight controlling jab, and seems lost on the inside with a shaky chin. When buzzed his survival skills and poise need work. Wilder is a puncher with a glass jaw who hasn't fought many top ten people in their prime. He's also a just an above average boxer. I'd pick Ruiz Jr to KO him too.
Like, turned on the TV and saw some of the worlds first video ever shot through antiquated technology? Or if you saw them with modern production?
BTW, why do we even debate if this fight could be possible? Wilder already fought someone Langford's height: https://roundbyroundboxing.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Deontay-Wilder-Marlon-Hayes-09.jpg Marlon Hayes, inactive middleweight who hadn't won a single fight for years. He was roughly the same height as Langford and miles behind Sam as a fighter. Wilder didn't KO him, they went full three rounds and the referee stopped the fight in fourth round. Some people say it's very iffy stoppage, but I can't find any footage from that fight. Either way, Wilder didn't KO 5'8 fighter with first punch thrown and this fighter wasn't GOAT P4P candidate with huge experience in fighting at HW.
Completely different styles. In addition, not the 39 year old version although he still might but the 34 - 35 year old version for sure. I happen to like Deontay, I'm glad he's making big money for his family but the man is very beatable. The trio of Deontay, Fury and Joshua are all huge and very average to me. Andy Ruiz may be the best of the four of them.
Wills-Firpo resembles Lewis-Klistchko more than people would like to admit. Couple of clumsy behemoths grappling and trying to rabbit punch each other.
Before the ortiz fight id agree thats a possibility. Now? Hell no, not unless you mean strictly by a punchers chance. Peter is only slightly better than bermain stiverne. Easy to hit, slow feet, not a good finisher, and his power is OVER RATED. People milk out his fight with Wladmir as if its a win and ignore all the times he stepped up in class and got destroyed.
Lol. My point would stand even if you had Wills-Firpo in some kind of futuristic, virtual-reality hologram technology.
