It's difficult to say, we could all say this and that, but it's something he and his team would work on, I'm sure. to make sure he's efficient at maintaining power, strength, condition, fitness etc at certain weights to get the most from a heavyweight fighter.. yes at 240 he might look a lot better but thats not the be and and end all. So much more than to how a fighter looks, especially an heavyweight, he might look a bag of
sh!te at his best weight to maintain all the pluses, and vice versa..

Or he just tried eating loads of snickers recently and is trying the Ruiz diet! Lol

Whyte was also 258lbs for Parker and did ok there. Since he is never going to be the rangiest or slickest, and will be relying on a bullying and mauling style against other big guys, maybe it doesn’t necessarily hurt him to be the heavier guy?

He has one of the smartest teams around him in the industry, they know what they are doing.

But I always figured that 247 was the sweet spot for Dillian

Yeah, he’s just a big dude. But he could stand to trim a little fat he carried on Saturday. I think 245-250 would be perfect. He did carry the 254 vs Browne very well, he looked as muscular as I've seen him look that night.

He isn't just a big dude. He is a fat dude. Earlier on in his career he weighed as low as 226. So I would say 230 would be a good weight for him. He is lucky that pretty much all of the dudes are fat now days. So him being 260 pounds isn't going to effect him much. If he fought in lets say the 90s when most of the top guys were in much better shape he would be exposed and destroyed.

This. Around 230 lbs Whyte actually has good hand speed and better mobility. Carrying all of that excess weight slows him down a lot and in my opinion likely cost him against Joshua. After rocking Joshua he was already sucking wind.

If you want to know anything about Dillion Whyte you need to ask Eddie Hearns.

Yeah and also worthy of respect is how he carried 256 against Parker for 12 rounds pushing the pace

I think he struggles a bit to make weight, endomorph, he said he came down from 275 for Rivas

Its a tough one and perplexes me with Dillian. He should in theory be 240-245 but has had his better performances against Parker, Rivas and Browne at 255-260 but did look to be puffing slightly in the later rounds of the first two fights.

And when he has come in at closer to what his weight should be against Chisora x 2 and Helenius he has strugggled slightly.

I think the higher weight suits the bullying mauling style of Whyte but the excess body fat % isn’t going to help his longevity or recovery. Like most heavyweights, it’s just lazy nutrition as far as I’m concerned despite a great team around him.

I think it's the way they approach the diet. He is obviously eating something wrong if he has those lovehandles. But at the same time he is not limiting his body's ability to function.
Then when they are trying to cut weight, it's more about cutting weight than optimal performance.

Whatever they did for the Rivas camp, they need to tweak it a bit, but stick to it. I was certain Whyte would slow down in the later half, but he finished strong despite being badly hurt in the 9th.

275? No wonder his stamina has been **** at times. He is clearly eating the wrong foods.
