I still like to see this fight happen but just not convinced at this point whether Floyd will want to come out of retirement specially after what he saw in Pacman's last 3 fights.

 

Why would somebody with an ego as big as Floyd's "allow" a neophyte boxer to smash him around for nearly half the fight? Floyd looked horrible in there and I don't for a second buy the "he carried him" arguments. I was expecting Mayweather to blow Conor out in 2 rounds, he should have, he's arguably the greatest boxer of his era against a noob. While I think Conor was better than anybody gave him credit for, I also think that a combination of a crappy style matchup and age had something to do with how bad Floyd looked. Lucky for him Conor has the gas tank of a fruitfly or the outcome would have been different.

 

Well Floyd will have ring rust. I don't think he will do it. He will not take the chance. It took him so long to fight Manny the first time. I think Manny should fight the Danny Garcia level fighters. Shawn Porter. Guys he is 50/50 to beat and then retire. Even Mikey Garcia would be a good fight, and most would favor Mikey, but Mikey is beatable perhaps. But Spence? Just a little too much.

 

I agree with this. Floyd relied a lot on quickness and reflexes in addition to technique and there's just no way that you can be as fast at 40 odd as you were at 30 odd. Frankly I'm surprised that Pac is still fighting at this level and its a matter of time before age catches up.

You don't get how business works. When floyd vs Conner was announced? Many ppl says that fight is a joke especially for a boxer facing an mma fighter. Floyd clearly let conner win the early rounds to make conner look great and make the fight look exciting so that he won't hear fans want their money back. <<<And it work.

This has always been the plan. Manny came over to Haymon for a reason and that was the rematch. It had to be built back up properly and the previous 3 Manny fights have done that, especially the Thurman fight. You think it is a coincidence that they immediately start promoting it right after the Thurman fight? Floyd made Manny get his rep back up after the JMM knockout and he did it again this time. It has been accomplished.

It is going to happen and everybody is going to tune in again. People have been saying that Floyd is boring and they won't buy another one of his fights for the last decade. It is going to happen, it is going to be a big event, and people are going to pay for it. It may not be as big a fight as the last one, but it will be the 3rd best selling ppv of all time and they will split a huge pot.

to be fair the guys retired, we all knew if floyd was sitting ringside hed be getting called out by pac. pac has nothing to lose and everything to gain whilst floyd is retired and has been for how many years now ? if he simply states "but i retired X years ago" everyone will just shout from the rooftops he is ducking pac... no real win for floyd here
