Rocco Marchegiano was one of the greatest boxers ever. There have been very very few heavyweight swarmers ever. I can only think of Marciano, Patterson, Frazier and Tyson.
If you compare Marciano with Tyson, Tyson was bigger and stronger. But Marciano was faster and had superb stamina. He had an incredible engine almost like a much smaller guy like Chavez. And he could swarm for 15 rounds.
Usky is second only to Holyfield at cruiser for me. But remember cruiser has only existed since 1980.
Usky hasn't even fought at heavyweight. You cannot compare him to a man who was undisputed heavyweight champion for 4 years. And Marciano didn't have a chance to turn pro until his mid 20s because of WWII.

The idea that Marciano would be a light hwt is beyond ridiculous. Rocky was a trained down 187 pound fighter without ROIDS. His walk around weight was over 200 pounds.

 

Marciano definitely was not faster than Tyson!LOL Marciano was also for the most part "swarming" against men under 200lbs and in their late 30's .You would expect him to have more stamina than them would you not?
How his stamina would hold up against 230lbs+ prime heavies is a moot point.
As a pro Usyk has beaten Mike Hunter who scaled 199lbs ,more than nearly all Marciano's key opponents.
As an amateur Usyk won the Super Heavy world series ,conceding weight to the likes of Joe Joyce, and Usyk is now 200lbs himself ,ie heavier than Walcott,Charles, Moore,Lastarza.
Q. Which modern sized heavies of any class did Marciano beat?

Irrelevant. Marciano was a proven and severely tested hwt champion. That’s why he is considered an ATG. The 16-0 fighter is just that and unproven and untested.
