What do you expect them to do? Issue a statement?

Fury, against the advice of his team, fought Wilder in December last year. He'd take Wilder next if he could in my opinion. This is a promotion/broadcaster preference, nothing to do with the fighters.

Unfortunately - when Fury signed that big ESPN contract, he gave up a lot of influence in who he fights and when.

Who would you like to see him fight?

Finding opponents for Fury a 6'9 switch hitter who moves like a featherweight is virtually impossible. Fury dishes out one sided boxing beat downs for fun and makes even accomplished fringe world contenders look like club fighters. They had to guarantee Schwarz (a 5 figure fighter) $1million to get him in the ring and look what happened to him. A boxer who has any ambition in the heavyweight division does not want any piece of Fury. I cant remember any boxer who has actually called him out except Dillian Whyte even Wilder has gone quiet after his gift draw.

My friend attended one of those 'An evening with Tyson Fury' events in Bristol last week. Fury apparently said he will give Chisora the option to fight him again as Chisora's last fight before he retires. Said that Chisora was the fighter that gave him his big break and wants to repay him.

Interesting little snippet - Fury changes his tune a lot of course so may not happen but thought it was worth sharing.

It's hard to know the exact timings but Fury signed his murky ESPN deal while he and Wilder were discussing the rematch. Fury will say otherwise, but from all of the videos at the time, opinion was that the Wilder team were in shock to wake up to Tyson's ESPN announcement. It may be that both of them were looking at another deal while pretending to arrange the rematch and Tyson got his done first. I doubt either of them particularly want to face each other any time soon. Yes, Wilder was outboxed, but he almost put Tyson through the ring. Pajkic, Cunningham and Wilder have all dropped him, so he is prone to it. Total respect for his powers of recovery, but his weakness is there.

On the stance, If I remember correctly he briefly switched in the Wilder fight but I would need to watch it again to be sure. He did it much more against Schwarz who is awful and it was showboating, but it still looked clumsy as anything.

I have no doubt Fury would get in the ring with Wilder next if he had it his way but since the Joshua downfall the heavyweight landscape has fractured and several possible routes have opened up for both boxers. The fact remains it's the biggest money fight in world boxing and until the Ruiz situation is resolved I do not expect anything regarding Wilder or Fury to be made official.

Seems such a waste. He already wasted several years of his career when he didn't fight anyone. And potentially this year he fights nobody except Martin and Schwarz?

It's 2 fights a year minimum in the contract, so as long as he gets his next one in before mid Feb 2020 he is within the terms. I didn't think he'd take a decent one till fight 4 of the 5 fight deal, but we'll see.

Nobody wants to fight him even for the payday and if they did they would be on social media calling him out. If he was trash rumours would get out from sparring like they did with Joshua.

While i think Chuckles Martin is garbage i can see the need for an American and there are limited options.

If fight goes ahead Fury will be expected to stop Martin given that Joshua made such easy work of him.

We know he's not trash - he's great. But his deal is only great for him, plus some handpicked bums. We've had one bum and we'll get another one and maybe a third one.

If you are a boxing fan and you are happy or not willing to question fury fighting charles martin then somethings wrong. He's the lineal and imo best heavyweight in the world, so fighting charles martin is **** poor tbh.

Who would you get for him to fight who is an available credible American heavyweight? Nobody in the top 20 will go near him for anything less than retirement money. They had to pay Schwarz $1million and he was ranked no 52. Martin will cost more than double that!

Michael Hunter would be an interesting one. Doubt he could particularly trouble Fury but he has skills and speed which Martin doesn't.

But looks like we'll be stuck with Martin who has probably run out of waccy baccy money again so will be keen to take the fight.

Hunter is a good shout and would be interesting stylistically but he is a Matchroom fighter now.
