You Tyson was more skilled, had better defense and was in the same tier as far as power went plus a much better puncher in terms of technique and combination punching abilities. Also a young Foreman was weak down the stretch just as Tyson was, so I don't see Foreman sticking in there and taking over late. I pick Tyson by stoppage maybe about 60/40.

Big George stops him in 7. Both fighters would probally be out on their feet in this one. I couldn't imagine it.

**** me It certainly was!! People forget today just how frightening George was in his day.

Today we see a friendly, old, bumbling grandfather figure. A kind of gentle giant but you must remember (and I'm sure you do) that in his day, George was almost as scary to his opposition as Iron Mike was in the 80's and early 90's.

**** me! He was a beast!!

With the weight he has put on, the doughy texture of his fizog and the dopey smile, the guy kind of looks like he has some kind of mental disorder. Like the lovable and completely loving Downs Syndrome kid but back in the 70's, he had a face and a look that the most terrifying serial killer would be jealous of.

Let's not forget too that George does have a very heavy history. He may preach religion now and peace to all men etc etc but back in the day, he could just have easily have pointed a piece at all men.

EDIT: To answer the question.... I have Tyson wearing him down and gaining a TKO. Stoppage in the later round. I don't think Tyson would put him on his arse.

EDIT 2: As dodgy a past as George had, it was nothing complared to Mike who was a real street kid. He spent his youth, before meeting Cus as a stick-up kid. Robbing people at gun point. while he was growing up in the 70's, New York city was one of the most dangerous places on Earth for street crime and he was from one of the most dangerous areas of that city, in one of the most dangerous neighbourhoods of Brooklyn. A place where the average age of death was similar to the crime ridden, murderous streets of Victorian London or Manchester a hundred years earlier. He grew up as tough as they come and that is where his intimidation tactics came from.. They weren't games, as people like to suggest, that was how life had always been for him. In his old neighbourhood, people don't back down from confrontation so you have to do your best to get the upper hand by scaring the opposition into deciding the risk is to high to tangle and if that doesn't work, you better be looking over your shoulder because the likely hood of getting a bullet in the back of the head or a knife between the shoulder blades was very high.

George, as street smart and as tough and dangerous as his youth had been was nothing compared to the ghettos of Brooklyn.

The problem here though is, if those intimidation tactics don't work on the street then you are ****ed, you become very paranoid, expecting to be put 6ft under at any time.

I sincerely believe Foreman would NOT have been scared of intimidated by Tyson. He would know that one on one in a ring during an official bout, without fear of jumpers in or weapons, he would be able to hold his own (of course he would have believed that he would beat him), so Tyson's usual intimidation tactics would fall short on George and when Tyson realises that his over bearing, in your face and violent character isn't phasing the opponent, he completely loses the plot. He can't cope with people not shaking with fear in front of him. We saw this with Lennox.

Pre fight goes to Foreman, purely due to the instability of Mike and him being unable to cope with not "making him his *****!", "or ****ing him till he loves him", of whatever mad stuff he has come out with in the past:)

Sorry for such a long winded post.

Does anyone agree with what I'm trying (so very poorly) to say?

Stylistically fighters like foreman is night mare for fighters like Tyson. foreman’s style is nightmare for shorter fighters. Foreman controls smaller opponents very easily with his push&pull&pin&clinch technique with his superior strength, also foreman had one of the best uppercut of all time foreman would use his pawing jab to pin his opponents head then hits them with a uppercut. Probably the hardest too when it lands clean.
and Ron Lyle hits way harder than tyson Lyle hits as about as hard as foreman himself according to leory Caldwell.and seeing how 44yrs old foreman took Morrison’s left hook (Morrison hits as hard as bert cooper according to ray Mercer Bert cooper hits far harder than tyson according to oliver McCall )like nothing you’ll see ,so to think tyson would hurt foreman with few punches like Lyle is laughable. But foreman would easily hurt a prime Tyson .Tyson’s prime was in his early 20s,he was stunned by a uppercut from tucker in the first round and hurt by bruno’s left hook very early . The fact style and statures makes fights, make Tyson very vulnerable to foreman’s uppercuts.

Big George KO's Iron Mike in R2, Tyson out for the count with no chance of scrambling around for his gum shield.

Both big punchers. Deciding factor will be Tyson’s far greater hand speed.

If we're talking in their actual timelines, I think Tyson would have beaten Old George. In fact, despite the stories swirling around about Tyson being intimidated by Foreman, I think that once they got in the ring, and the chips were down, Mike would have been too fast and too savage for Old George.

Prime for prime, I pick Foreman as having the edge. They're both sluggers, and while I think Tyson was faster and fighting with a more refined system, and arguably more skilled, George had a big edge in size. I think this is one of those times where the great big guy really does beat the great smaller guy.

Not really. Tyson was no where near as effective when he was stood up to, Foreman's mandible is unbreakable, he wouldn't be going anywhere. Foreman would be able to grab Tyson when he would be walking forward and push him away to get leverage on his shots

Tyson's combos came at mid range, Foreman would be in position to land his huge uppercuts. Speed doesn't mean much when you're always in range, Foreman would land early. Tyson had a good chin, but Foreman could break most people's chins, He did Chuvalo, he could Tyson
