Ray Mercer knocked out Zelko Mavrovic in 1 round in 1988 at amateurs

Proves? You are a moron. Mavrovic had 28 fights and fought one puncher. Vitali had 47 fights and fought multiple puncher's and a MUCH better class of opponents. That is the proof. Those are the facts. If you want to count it, Mavrovic was Ko'd in one by Ray Mercer in the amateurs.

If you watch the punches, Lewis hit Vitali harder.

It doesn't matter how many fights he had , he may as well have had 28 just like Mavrovic. . The legend of his chin comes from just one fight.

In that ONE fight he cleary reacted to the shots a LOT worse than Mavrovic did. Mavrovic Holy , and Mercer walked through harder hitting uppercuts by Lewis and never even flinched.
Vitali was holding on for dear life. FACT.

The Sanders fight shows Vitali was panic stricken when he felt Sanders power. Thats a negative sign , not a positive.
Sanders was also totally washed up and turned up just to collect a check.
Referencing that fight is the same as saying Cooney has an iron chin because he beat huge punching Ron Lyle. Anybody who saw that fight knows Cooney never got hit against a washed up opponent. Story of Vitali's career.

Beyond Lewis fight Vitali never took took the hits that would prove he has an iron chin , so you can stick your fake 47 fights argument up your anus where it belongs.

 

Vitali was stopped by Pele Reid and William Van Roosmalen in kick boxing and by Oleg Maskaev in amateur boxing. It doesn’t mean much when classing a fighters chin, they’re almost different sports.

Lewis hit both Mavrovic and Vitali with some huge shots which they both took well but Mavrovic stood up to it for 12 rounds whereas Vitali looked like road kill after 6. It can’t be definitively answered if he took a better punch than Mavrovic nor whether he stands up to 12 rounds of abuse from a sharper version of Lennox as Mavrovic did.

One, that was an open floor kick boxing match and Reid used an illegal kick to win. Vitali was injured going into to the Maskeav fight, Oleg said the win meant nothing.

We are talking boxing here, not kick boxing or a guy opting out with an injury as an amateur. Nothing was wrong with Mavrovic until Mercer hit him.

If you watch the big punches in both matches, its clear Mavrovic never took a shot as hard as the uppercut Lennox landed on Vitali.

It's also clear Vitali fought far more punchers and people in general as a professional boxer, as such he's chin is far more tested.

 

Watch the video, it wasn't like Holmes could not stand. It was an amateur stoppage.

 

Larr Holmes was also stopped twice as an amateur by southpaw Nick Wells.

You're wrong, Mavrovic fought Clifton Mitchell a big puncher ,and beat him.

 

I know what you are saying for sure. One has to say tho that Mavrovic's display of durability against Lewis was sensational at the very least - far above Weaver vs Coetzee tho that was impressive too.

If Tyson beat on someone cleanly good and proper for some time that would be impressive too. It's a pity he couldn't fight again to potentially reinforce what he showed that night.

 

Who? I had to look him up. That guy feasted on novices and journeyman. Tons of people today look more impressive than he ever did and stoped a better class. He lasted two rounds vs. Mavrovic. I can't see how his chin was tested.

Vitali beat many name punchers that were ranked. Sanders, Briggs, Peter, Hide, and Kirk Johnson. Heck, Danny Williams is a more proven puncher than this Mitchell character was.

Observation, the Lewis fans who never liked Vitali are incorrectly picking Marvrovic. Let Mavrovic fight 40+ fights and many outside of his prime vs.. class opponents ( outside of Lewis ) and well' see what he's made of.
