Basing only on resume, I don't know how can you pick Liston over Marciano honestly. I also don't know why Jack Johnson is so low. Jamea Jeffries should be highier than most of your contenders. I'd love to see a case for Byrd over Schmeling or Fitzsimmons.

Foreman was just a novice in this fight.

Foreman was 21 years old having his 16th fight Peralta had just drawn with Oscar Bonavena and was having his 91st fight.
Peralta was the number ten Ring rated heavyweight.

Foreman is the only man to stop Peralta at heavyweight.
Only 3 men ever managed to do so in 116 fights! Mauro Mina then 22-2-1 ,Peralta was having his first fight a mis match , Willie Pastrano [cut eye] and George.
• Judge: Tony Castellano 5-4
• Referee: Mark Conn 9-1
• Judge: Jack Gibbons 7-3
• Unofficial AP scorecard: 6-2-2
"A ringside poll of the press had it lopsided for Foreman"
• Unofficial UPI scorecard: 9-1
• No excuses necessary!
• Excellent win for Foreman.

Thee one and only Luis Ortiz that ended Joe Louis 's prime in an EXHIBITION deserves to atleast be in the top three.

There's more than 10 fighters with a solid case for top 10, it really depends who you include, I rank Wlad just outside the top 10, but there's a strong case for him being higher, likewise with Liston and Frazier.

Some I'd pick outside that group are Max Schmeling, John L Sullivan, Max Baer, Ezzard Charles, Jersey Joe Walcott, Floyd Patterson, and Riddick Bowe.

I'd probably include Dempsey in the top 10 if it was about how good a fighter looks, but ranking more on what they achieved, I agree top 20 is more appropriate.

No, Foreman had his share of shortcomings. Cutting off the ring is not one of them. Even in fights he lost (Ali and Young) he did briliant job stopping them from dancing and moving. He was one of the best ever in that aspect.

Damn, you don't rank Jeffries much, I definitely think he should be ahead of Fitzsimmons.

I've gone back and forth a lot as to the order for Harry Wills, Peter Jackson and Sam Langford. ATM I'd probably put Wills on top of them.

Because he was 21 years old, green, and facing a cagey, defensive fighter with 90 fights under his belt.
Those aren't excuses, they are facts.Spot the difference?

Foreman won decisively and clearly.
N .B . A 38 years old Peralta, having his last fight held 26 fight Ron Lyle to a draw.

If you can't see the difference between young Foreman in the first Peralta fight and prime Foreman, then it's you who needs help.
