https://mtkglobal.com/mtk-global/mtk-global-unveils-unique-world-level-tournament/ I like the look of this.
Looks a class concept. Do wander how the numbers add up I must say. Wouldn't be surprised if they sold it to BT or Sky, cannot imagine they will get enough traction just from YouTube and the ESPN link
Not so sure about this concept. So the winner will win £500k split over 5 fights ? I’d assume It would consist of mainly novices as anyone with a promoter/manager wouldn’t be able to sign with anyone else . So can’t see the massive appeal of less well known fighters to the casual fans (who generate the big money). Also think the not knowing the opponent until the week of the fight is a bit gimmicky. I’d give it a watch but it rivals prizefighter and ultimate boxxer rather than the WBSS if you ask me.
A little sceptical of the level of opp they'll get in but if it's well matched then I couldn't care less. Let's see what they deliver.
3 weight classes. In each one they’ve got Featherweight Frampton, Lowe, Walsh Super Lightweight Flanagan Light heavyweight Hosea Burton and Liam Conroy. I’d expect to see all them take party with perhaps Frampton the only exemption.
With Hughie joining matchroom that leaves Hennessy with no headliners and therefore no shows. Channel 5 have a vacancy you’d imagine.
It’s to win £500k and a contract. All of those fighters already have a contract. My guess is it will be similar to ultimate boxxer and the £500k will be split over all 3 tournaments as I just don’t see how the numbers add up unless there are fringe contenders in the mix.
The winner of each tournament will land a two-year, five-fight deal that guarantees six-figure purses for every fight along with global exposure. So the tournament pots could be more or less than 500k. But that’s the prize not the tournament purse. And that’s at least.
Makes sense for this to be sublet to Channel 5 with it still being broadcast on YouTube. Let Mick have a couple of undercard fights for his prospects as well. It really wouldn’t benefit from going behind a paywall needlessly.
That is true. The confusing bit is MTK fighters with managerial contracts not Promotional I guess. Like Frank wouldn't let one of his MTK fighters commit to 3 fights on 5
