Love em' both. Jersey Joe would not KO Patterson. Depending on the year they would have fought it could have gone either way. If there was a stoppage IMO it would have been Floyd doing the stoppage.
Floyd walked into Ingo's BEST shot. He wanted to fight the people's fight against Sonny both times and got clocked. Rising against both. Does Walcott come close to their power? Not!
Could go either way depending on the year particulars but Walcott is not going to "KO" Patterson!

Floyd is very underrated head to head imo. He was a better fighter than Walcott. Walcott didn't have an authoritative jab to keep Floyd away. Floyd actually had a better jab. Floyd was excellent at feinting and drawing counters before he stepped in. This is where a great jab would be required. You have to time Floyd's entries and keep a jab in his face. Floyd bobbed and weaved like no heavyweight before him (no fighter before him??). The hand speed would be a big problem for Walcott. Floyd was a great combination puncher and he was too fast and too accurate in close range. He battered Moore on the inside because he didn't give Moore opportunities to counter. You're not gonna counter someone like Floyd Patterson mid-combination. He punches, you eat them and then he leans on you with his hands up. Unless you're someone like Liston who just bullies everyone, Floyd can hold his own on the inside. I can see Floyd catching Walcott the way he caught Moore. Floyd was really good at setting up that left hook. And again, it comes down to speed. Walcott isn't gonna see that left hook coming. And Floyd will be able to see a lot of Walcott's traps, as he did against Moore. I think Walcott gets a little too much credit for his slickness. He was very slick but he was pretty slow, especially next to Floyd. Walcott keeps his right hand low and Floyd sets you up with vicious body punches. Floyd will land that left hook and I think he'll win almost every round by outworking Walcott.

Maybe it's true but he battered Moore because Archie was past his best. I'm not sure he'd beat 1951-53 Moore to be honest, though he had good style to do that.

If Walcott can ko Charles and drop Marciano, I think he'll hit Floyd hard at some point. Joe is about a 3-2 favorite but a Patterson win wouldn't be shocking

Walcott was not as good as Charles. But he is still better than Floyd. Joe by KO in 13. With the sneaky walkaway rght, he may get him fast like Ingo. Surprise!!!!!

At their best I like Walcott by KO but Walcott could always find a way to lose. Fun match that likely ends by 6. Walcott to strong KO 6

When guys like Johnson, Ezzard and Louis did, I tend to think that Patterson would.
