Just off the cuff, sideshow act or no, I have to imagine this would be the highest-grossing fight involving two self-identifying Muslims in combat sports history? I'm not sure how long Tyson remained NOI after prison, but I'm pretty sure he deprogrammed by when he fought Danny Williams (already by then himself a convert, I believe?). Prince Naz didn't ever face a fellow Islam adherent, did he?

Murat is an ethnic Armenian. So he's not a Muslim unless he converted which I strongly doubt. Shumenov might be a Muslim though?
Wasn't aware that Lobov was a Muslim(is he?) Knew he probably wasn't of a pure Russian background based on how he looks but this is the first I've heard of that. I know for a fact he drinks.
I think Marco Huck and Joshua Clottey are muslim so maybe Mundine v Clottey and Huck V Arslan would qualify although neither were big fights outside Australia and Germany
But was that (meaning Hopkins vs. Shumenov) a bigger fight in terms of gate/views/purses than Khan vs. Lobov would be, with its crossover appeal to boxing & MMA casuals? I'm not even sure B-Hop was the main draw on the card, at that point in his career... he was just part of a triple-header with Kid Chocolate and Shawn Porter (two guys who obviously aren't fit to carry his jockstrap in terms of all-time greatness, but...in 2014, he might not have been as high above them)
No this would be bigger considering it brings two different fanbases from different sports to the table. But..... Is Lobov actually a Muslim? Im reading conflicting things and not finding clear answers from Google searching.
