Ive worked with Tongans,Samoans and Fijians over the years,Id give a slight advantage to Fijians when it comes to height. They seem to produce some real speedsters too, guys who can run really fast. I have seen in powerlifting guys from Nauru and they all seem really short so they must have descended from somewhere else compared to their pacific cuzzies.

ive been heavier than 230 at 5 7,part maori. Yeah i was fat. Well i had muscle but my bf was highest its ever been. I agree with posters saying polynesians and maoris struggle with keeping the weight off

I would not call Tua fat in the Lewis fight. A bit chubby but highly muscular. To be that muscular requires some form of weight lifting and don't give me the genetics nonsense. Most maoris do not have that kind of build. In fact no race of people can get that muscular without doing heavy resistance training.

I think it was the rib injury before the fight that made Tua a bit more tentative than usual. Lewis was very quick on his feet that night too. In light of Andy Ruiz winning titles in arguably worse shape than Tua was,im not sure if being overweight is purely to blame here. Tua had the goods to be heavyweight champ or at least grab a belt as evidenced by his demolition jobs on guys who won belts.

He must have done some form of resistance training, maybe played Rugby, fast sprints. With fat people it really is hard to tell how much is muscle and how much is fat.

Heavy manual work combined with a high calorie diet will definitely make you muscular. Sonny Liston and Joe Frazier worked on farms from a very young age and had impressive physiques, especially Liston.

check out the left hook he landed on Darrell Wilson, ive never seen such a short shot completely render a man unconscious. Remarkable how little a distance that punch travelled. Now im not claiming he hit the hardest but the man hit HARD. A very strong man.

im not that knowledgable bro,but in my opinion hes up there. He literally destroyed some good fighters. Sure he had some weaknesses but no one except Ike stood in front of him. That was seriously asking for trouble trading with him, hooks especially.

Yes because Tua's Kos over a LHW and overrated hugger and a sucker punch after the bell are so much more impressive. Look at David Tua and fear his inability to KO Chris Byrd.

    George Foreman>Tua
    Deontay Wilder>Tua
    Max Baer>Tua
    Earnie Shavers>Tua
    Sonny Liston>Tua
    Joe Louis>Tua
    Wladimir Klitschko>Tua

    Should I keep going?
