The reason there is silence is purely to get the fix in. No doubt the b sample will miraculously come back clean and everything will be forgotten about by Sky and Hearn. Plenty of past history for UKAD doing this when it comes to high level British athletes or certain teams who are leading the way in a sport for Britain.

Too much money involved with future fights involving Whyte for everyone involved not to pull a quick quick and sweep it under the carpet.

Good post mate. That penultimate paragraph is a valid point. Let's not forget that the Mayor of London got involved to facilitate a capacity increase at Wembley for one of Joshua's fights. And you have people here who really believe that UKAD enforces stringent testing on Joshua. The local economies in the cities where Joshua fights stand to benefit enormously from these fights. Clearly there is a massive incentive to keep Joshua winning (hence the judging and refereeing in his fights) and to ensure that he is cleared to fight in an optimal physical condition (hence the TUEs for testosterone).

Agreed mate. The longer this goes on with as much secrecy as possible, the more inevitable it is that Whyte gets fully exonerated with zero transparency provided to the media and general public. Hearn has already started rattling out the "why was he cleared to fight" line in response to any questions from journalists.

Is that real life or rumour regarding Joshuas TUE?

Part of me wants to believe that we have organisations that are not corrupt in their dealings. Maybe what we are seeing is just a microcosm of how our society works. You are right, money talks in our society. In my view, Whyte or anyone else should not be the sacrificial lamb while those who make money off the work the athletes do can continue in the sport without any real consequences.

I don't know if we would never have found out about the failed test. I still, probably naively, give the benefit of the doubt to UKAD and think that they would have to wait until their procedures had been followed before announcing the results of a failed test. In saying that there is a long history across the sporting world of athletes having failed tests covered up.

We probably need more journalists like Hauser to raise the lid on the machinations going on behind the scenes. I can't help feeling the only one who is going to suffer any consequences of a corrupt system is Whyte. Everyone else will walk away and return to doing what they do telling us all that it is a sad situation.

That’s a whole lot of corrupt organisations , the Mayor of London, UKAD, AJ, the referee, the judges etc all to make a few extra quid !

If this were the case Matchroom would’ve paid out more money to these than they could ever make back.

I’m not sure why anyone would bother watching boxing if they honestly thought all of that was happening.

When the rugby league have their ‘magic weekend’ in a city (been Liverpool & Newcastle lately) where they play all 6 fixtures in the same stadium over 2 days, the local economy does incredibly well. These cities all make a claim to the RL for this event to happen at their place because you have 50,000 people over 2 days staying over, spending. That’s just an example, but having these events is a huge boost for a local economy hence me using Mayweather as an example. They delayed his imprisonment so that he could still fight in Vegas because the revenue he created was astronomical. When UKAD in this case make their decision to call together an ultra quick meeting (these things normally take months) to decide whether this fight should still go ahead, they’re obviously bearing in mind the financial relevance of this event, otherwise they would not be having emergency meetings.

It’s not been denied and given the fact that we would have no clue about the Whyte hearing if it wasn’t leaked I’d say that there is something in the TUE allegations.

This is probably very close to the truth.

It has been well reported that Roy Jones Jr had many abnormal drug tests during his career and the first fight where he was subjected to rigorous testing happened to be the Tarver fight. We all saw how he performed in that fight and subsequent fights after. Mike Tyson wrote in his books that he used a " Whizzer " to pass drug tests, now it seems all they need is a good lawyer and / or a TUE.

Other sports especially Cycling and Athletics are full of similar cover up stories.

Tyson Fury could have potentially bankrupted UKAD had he sued for damages and I'm sure Dillian Whyte's lawyer's applied similar pressure to both UKAD and the BBBoC especially if the " B " sample results were unknown at the time.

Micheal Watson brought the board to the brink of bankruptcy many years ago with his court case.

Until these doping agencies have full government backing similar to how the US Federal Service helped bring down Armstrong nothing will change and even then it was many years after the fact.

As Frank Warren highlighted in his recent video, in other sports, athletes are not getting punched in head.

I think UKAD brush things under the carpet all the time. Take athletes and their coaches aside and give them a heads up behind closed doors.
The Tyson Fury case was enough for me to conclude that.
When Fury was mandatory challenger to Klitschko and Britain's #1 heavyweight contender, his nandrolone was brushed under the carpet as a minor instance that required nothing more than a meeting to discuss it with their coach with no further action , no one heard anything about it ... (UKAD have done nothing to disprove that version of events ) ... .... but 15 months later when new champion Fury had beceome a spectacularly unpopular public figure (and the popular Joshua had risen to "world champion" level too by then) ... suddenly nandrolone thing emerged from under the carpet as a full blown "PED offence" (which, most likely, it was.).

This Whyte case seems they were/are trying to brush a positive test under the carpet in similar fashion, and is actually a fair bit worse than the Fury case because this was a PRE-fight test result apparently for a drug (Dianabol) that's metaboloites cannot possibly occur natutrally (which is at least possible in the case of Deca / nandrolone).

And it's not just the UKAD, it's the BBBoC as well.
    And of course Matchroom.

They may well still get away with it.

Frank does make some good points here but even he is shifting the blame onto UKAD.
At the end of the day it's the bbbc where the buck ends. It's their rules and regulations that fighters and promoters have to adhere to. If the board have it in their rulebook that if a, A sample is positive then the said fighter is not allowed to fight until the matter is resolved. It's that simple, everyone laminated under the bbbc are stipulated under their rules. Effectively you are contracted to the board.
It's the board that needs to update their policy. They always try and make sure that shows goes ahead but this is one example where the fighters have to be pulled. Im quite sure that if it had of been one of the fighters at the bottom of the card who was in a 4rounder they would of pulled them from the fight.
Back to Frank, he has hit the nail on the head when he points out that morally Hearn is accountable.
    Legally he isn't.

I don’t personally think it’s some big conspiracy theory involving doping agencies and the mayor of London...

Matchroom have obviously been shown up as hypocrites, in particular Eddie Hearn. But if the rules stipulate the fight should go ahead then that’s the rules. Wouldn’t be surprised if the threat of hefty compensation if Whyte was cleared was enough for the fight to go ahead. I don’t think UKAD are corrupt personally. Incompetent and/or lacking muscle maybe...

Let’s not pretend Frank Warren is any less snakey than Hearn though...he’s the definition of a rat...

This is the problem with the sport, the ones at the top are probably the most corrupt and in reality the biggest cheats.

Whenever a new promoter enters the scene they're a breath of fresh air , they talk about 50-50 fights , wanting to revolutionise the sport and having a duty of care to fighters and fans.

After a few years in the sport they end up taking on the same negative characteristics and traits of their predecessors. Hearn and Warren are no different than Arum and King and those who went before them.

Hearn would throw Dillian Whyte under the bus quicker than Warren could open another Phoenix Company.

The governing bodies are no different, I remember Bob Lee of the IBF being found guilty of 36 counts of racketeering.

    Corruption yeah?

Ok, let's take a look at how many people need to be paid off -

    Whyte had an NADP hearing:

"An athlete / ASP charged with an ADRV has the right to a fair hearing. The hearing process will determine whether an ADRV has been committed and, if so, the appropriate consequences.

Depending on the applicable anti-doping rules, it is likely that the hearing will be held before the NADP.

The NADP is a national tribunal and appellate body for the UK, entirely independent of sporting governing bodies and UKAD"

    How does the hearing work?

    This content is protected

HELL OF A LOT OF PEOPLE TO PAY OFF!!! JEEZ, how much each fellas??? And for the risk of what?? To get shut down? What about all the other athletes under UKAD? Their combined income is likely higher than the bribes/payouts required!!
