Would be a savage fight and would probably take a toll on Pac, but I just dont see the basis for thinking Williams wins. Hes huge with a great workrate, but he's also very hittable. I think Pac outpoints him by landing the better punches, in a war.

Too good? Lmfao. The only reason Williams would ever beat Pac is height and reach. Not because he's "too good". Williams has no defense at all and left hands are his kryptonite. I give Pac a great chance based on the huge difference in just being able to box.

    Carlos Quintana schooled Williams FFS.

Williams only lost to southpaws. Many people felt Lara, another lefty, beat him too. I’d bet on Manny to destroy him with body shots.

I pick Williams to shock Manny. He was just too big.

Man, this would have been one of the greatest fights of the generation, maybe THE best. I can't pick it. If Williams boxed and used his height, reach, skills(which he did have but didn't use that much) I think he easily takes a wide UD if not shutout UD. But that's the problem with Williams(in some people's eyes) -- he was a stone cold warrior who lived for the sole reason of going to war. Caution to the wind, damn thee torpedoes, Paul was coming and throwing fire. Because of that, I think that makes this too tough to call. I don't think Manny could stop Paul, but wouldn't be surprised because his power, if he got inside, and the leverage he would have on those shoots. I actually think I'd favor Williams and by stoppage, too big a size difference. And he would unquestionably make it a war, come forward, and land.

My exact thinking. Too many people discount the impact size and fighters frames have on the outcomes of fights and how much the affects of their power is amplified by a big size advantage.

FFS, Viktor Postol, a total featherfist, broke Mattysse's orbital bone.

Floyd, Pac and Cotto ignored Paul Williams for a reason and that’s due to his size and work rate.. By the time these guys became WWs they were ALL strategically picking their opponents and he didn’t fit the bill.. Although each guy possessed skills to defeat him I believe they felt it wasn’t worth the risk to either lose or look bad against him.. Those fights with Sergio took a lot out of him and by the time he fought Lara he was shot(which is why he was being considered for Canelo before the accident)..

No chance that Williams survives the onslaught Pacquiao would put on him and his body.

This is false. Lara always schools Williams. Southpaw and too slick for Williams. Williams was not shot.

Quintana was a southpaw and a lesser fighter than Lara. He schooled Williams. That tells you Williams never beats Lara (fairly).

Regardless of you felt Lara would always beat Williams it don’t change the fact that he was completely shot when they fought.. Also it’s no coincidence that Floyd,Cotto, Pac, Oscar, and Shane was at WW at the same time as Williams and neither fought him.. He was still too risky for either of those guys to fight due to his height and work rate..
