It's a provisional suspension and they might reinstate him depending on how their investigation unfolds.

Being cleared to fight and being clean are 2 different things. If his B sample comes back positive than it'll be another black eye for the sport as Whyte, his promoter and several commissions will look very bad if that turns out to be the case.

The problem with Whyte is he's been suspended in the past for approximately 2 years if I remember correctly. He's being accused of testing positive for anabolic steroid metabolites in his system this time, it doesn't look good for him at all.

Such a shame that some fanboys hate Wilder so much that somehow he gets blamed for Dillian Whyte popping dirty in his OWN COUNTRY by his OWN COUNTRY testing agency... Can’t make this up

Why are all the FatBoyz like Big Fat Baby Miller and Donkey Whyte JUICING to be able to win a fight and still come in looking like Crispy Cream Arreola who trains on Corona's and Burritos!?!

Although I'm pretty certain the WBC would have a completely different ruling if Whyte was Mexican, they definitely did the right thing here. He tested positive, so he shouldn't be able to fight for anything major until this is resolved.
The British rule is ridiculous, because it allows for both guys that weren't careful and actual cheats to fight on without any concequences until the entire procedure has been resolved, even without opponents knowing what's going on.
It's one thing to allow a cheat competing in and winning a Tour de France, but a whole other thing to allow one to hammer upon another man's head. It's not just a financial and career determining thing, it's outright dangerous.

Well it's a good thing Wilder can now focus on 51 year old Louis Ortiz who is clean as a whistle!

Fair enough, really. They've not outright stripped him but they're not prepared to allow him to move forward until the situation is resolved. If Whyte gets cleared he needs to be reinstated ASAP though. That's where I think the WBC will once again show their true colours. If he gets cleared.

Three of Wilder's previous defences were against men who failed drug tests a short while before: Ortiz, Stiverne, and Arreola. If Whyte gets exonerated there's no justification for Wilder refusing to fight him on the grounds of a previously failed test.

Exactly. Going to such crazy lengths to defend a two time drug cheat is beyond mental to me.
