But Javier Capetillo was STILL working corners in Ca all the time Margarito was suspended . The charge against Tony was that he attempted to load his gloves illegally
All that was proven & admitted to was Capetillo accidently put a HARMLESS used pad in the wrap & not a new one.
Now lets see you defend your POS hero getting caught with illegal IV in his own home. C'mon

No he can't and that's no disrespect to Manny and the great career he carved out for himself. He's in my top 20 which is incredible in its own right.

Boxing is a very different sport compared to all other "major" sports. In the NFL guys like Tom Brady are getting consideration as the greatest of all time now, in the NBA, Lebron's greatness is being compared to MIchael Jordan (I still believe MJ is better personally,) in tennis guys like Federer have usurped the great Pete Sampras and Bjorn Borg. In baseball they're talking about mike Trout being on a trajectory of possibly being the greatest. In soccer over the last decade, Ronaldo and Messi have rightfully put themselves in the argument of being in the greatest of all time conversation (although Maradona and Pele probably have something to say about it.)

Boxing is different in the case that all modern fighters have very little chance of being considered the greatest of all time since they don't campaign anywhere near as much as the old time fighters. The guy in my avatar is the greatest fighter ever, he never lost at WW and went 124-1 in his first 125 fights with his only loss coming against a full fledged MW while he himself was only a WW (a fight he avenged less than a month later.)

The modern day fighters are up against it because of guys like Harry Greb, Ray Robinson, Henry Armstrong, Willie Pep and Sam Langford. They fought so many times and their accomplishments almost read like a fiction novel. It's believed that Greb might've fought nearly 300 times with being blind in one eye for half his career. Armstrong was the lineal champion in 3 weight classes simultaneously while almost winning another lineal title up at MW (in a fight that was a draw.) Langford was arguably the greatest non champion ever (him and Mcfarland,) and he campaigned successfully as a LW all the way to HW. They did this during a time when there were only 8 weight classes and without all the alphabet titles.

Manny is a great fighter and one of the very best of the last 25-30 years. It's an old sport and the modern day fighter has very little chance of cracking into the top 10 all time. Only guy I can think of that fought less than 100 times that's in my top 10 ATG's is SRL and that's because he was fortunate enough to fight in an era where there were such great fighters around him to compete against and he did well for himself.

It’s the opposite. Boxing has evolved. The competition is tougher.

Royce Gracie was a WW who dominated guys from LW to HW. He couldn’t do that today. MMA has evolved, competition is tougher.

Langford belonged in an era where his competition was tough Irish men having a go at it. It wasn’t the sweet science as it is today. Watch their tapes, looks horrible. If that wasn’t Langford and some random pro boxer today it would be classed as a joke.

Only SRR looked good, the first modern day looking boxer.

And fighting more means squat, it means your opponents also fought more and had less of a training camp, less fresh and you had to fight more bums.

This is all very subjective but how many champions did Armstrong beat? How many weights did he climb? Let’s get empirical here. What was the combined boxing records of their opponents win-loss ratio? Let’s get less subjective and actually get objective with some empirical data.
