Dillian Whyte tests positive for banned substance

I do agree that the fact that Hearn and Matchroom are involved has intensified people's interest and "glee" if you like over this situation. But what can't be ignored is that in this instance with Whyte, the fight actually went ahead. Looking on Twitter that's the main reason why casual observers are so up-in-arms about it.

 

I agree it shouldn’t have went ahead (or at least not without Rivas being informed). But it’s just ridiculous the way one fighter is getting so much abuse compared to the other who got a relative pass and it’s basically solely down to promoter.

Or is it because Dillian is a bigger name maybe and more in the public eye?

 

I just think it is a drip feed of Peds and dodgy refs and scorecards and Hearns Bs last year with Wilder v AJ etc etc.....

Nah as a guy who generally dislikes Hearn I'll concede that you're first point is right, it's got a bigger spotlight because Hearn is involved. That's not to also dismiss the fact that Whyte is indeed the more popular fighter as a PPV mainstay.

Put all of those factors into the mix and you have what will become a 100-pager lmfao.

It's an entertaining thread though, I've been enjoying most of the posts. Some good debate amongst the troll posts.

This is a quality interview. The more and more you hear the glove story the worse it sounds. What where the BBBoC thinking???

 

From my perspective, there’s more dimensions to this story than the Billy Joe Saunders stuff. BJS doesn’t have the same profile, he failed a VADA test and this was breach of contract. Was stripped and that was pretty much that.

Whyte is a PPV heavyweight fighter on Sky and represented by Eddie Hearn. I think it’s fair to say that Dillian Whyte could be considered a household name whereas BJS is not.

Then you have the secrecy, the underhanded nature in which it was handled (not telling Rivas). We also have the gloves story which is a big story in itself.

You’re right, it’s definitely got more pages because of the dislike of Hearn, too, because he is a huge hypocrite who only recently has given tons of interviews with his opinions on drug cheats.

 

He is very level headed, which makes all his claims very hard to discredit.

Agreed. He called it glove tampering, which sounds extreme at first but when you consider what he says in regards to them messing around with the procedures such as checking, weighing, approving and signing them off etc. It’s very wrong.

This is allegedly why Warren's vid was taken down from BT. He mentioned summat about "knowing something" about the BBBoC.
