Ruiz announced today that the rematch won't be in the uk as they would allow Joshua to take PED'S so he's gonna have to come to America again

Prepare for another panic attack followed by beatdown

Hearn said yesterday the fight won't be in America.

Ruiz doesn't have any say in it.

I don’t understand how people can’t get it into their heads that Ruiz has to fight at a place of Joshua’s choosing as he signed a contract saying he would before the first fight.

You would think so, but Ruiz (in the last 12 hours) has now gone on record by telling Joe Rogan categorically that the fight will not be in the UK. He has told Rogan the location of the fight with the microphones off.

Very strange move (considering the videos will be watched and shared widely online) if that wasn't correct.

What's interesting is that this is the first time either side has said that the venue is decided. Before, all we heard was that they were still in negotiations.

He'll fight where he's told to fight and he'll have to say thank you?

    Actually thinking about it

Contractually Ruiz is obligated to fight wherever joshua says. So technically he doesn't have a choice.

In reality though Ruiz does have choice, he can hold Joshua's team to ransom and say I'm not fighting in the UK.

Ruiz says I'm not fighting in UK. So hearn says ok will sue you then. Ruiz says fine sue me then but I'm not fighting.

In that case Ruiz would get sued but Joshua would lose the fight. So whilst Ruiz may be under contract he can always breech it if he wants and take the financial hit.

So really they do need to mutaully agree because if one side puts there foot down this could get messy. I'm assuming this is what is happening as it's taking a while and up until now both sides don't seem to be agreeing.

Personal opinion is Ruiz is a biitch if he doesn't take the fight in the UK and makes this difficult. Joshua gave him a chance and came to America, Ruiz signed a contract and it's only right that he honours it.

Joshua and Hearn running around telling people we got the belts we run the show. Now all they got is their dick in their hands. And if the choice was AJs then why hasn’t a venue been picked? clearly it’s not as Hearn says. Also **** AJ, Ruiz has the win Joshua can keep the trinkets Ruiz he will make **** tons of money milking the win. AJ needs the more than Ruiz. Oh and stop acting like AJ did Ruiz a favor coming to America, he didn’t, this was suppose to be a easy win.

The over pampered bodybuilder is out of his comfort zone now. Those golden shiny belts taken from him, by a big flat gluttonous bully blob called Andy Ruiz. Should have taken the bomb squads most generous offer Anthony. Once the lard takes you apart asecond time without those precious PED'S in your system. Andy will relinquish the belts to Haymon. Then Deontay can collect them, and add them to his priceless collection. Lol easier then taking candy from a baby!

It completely depends on how any location clause was worded, something which none of us know. It obviously wasn't as straightforward as Hearn made out in the aftermath - because Joshua's team and Matchroom would obviously want it in the UK to give Joshua the best possible chance of winning through managing the marginal gains.

The other thing is there would be pressure from DAZN to have the fight in the US but equally pressure from Sky to have the fight in the UK. Not that easy for Matchroom to arrange. Add in Ruiz' promotion (with all their clout and experience) making it harder for Hearn and Matchroom.

Its easier in the UK to take PEDs before a fight than in the US or Mexico? That makes zero sense.

Like I said legally it's probably up to AJ but you can't force a man to do something he doesn't want to do. If Ruiz digs his heals in and says no I'm not coming to the UK regardless of the legal situation then that's that and hearn/Joshua would have to decide do we fold and do what Ruiz wants or dig our heals in sue Ruiz but not get the chance to get the belts. I don't think Joshuas side wants a legal battle they want the rematch so will likely yield to Ruiz.

They may have not done Ruiz a favour but as we understand is Ruiz signed a contract which states he must have a rematch. If he is now trying to wriggle out of that it's a biitch move.

None of us know, but I would be amazed if any clause about the venue is coined as 'up to Joshua'.

Ultimately decided by team Joshua (ie Matchroom, Joshua and his team, Sky, DAZN) etc. but it wouldn't be up to the fighter in isolation.

If that was the case - Joshua could just say he wants the fight in Lagos, despite the logistics, and Matchroom and Sky wouldn't be able to do anything about it. Obviously lots of people make that decision depending on how it's worded.

I also thought he spoke of other destinations such as LA and NY as "would" have been great. Only watched it once though.

I expect Joshua to come back better and eventually unify. Hopefully.

I do like Ruiz though, not sure who to root for here.
