If you compare Loma now and, let's say, a year ago, it's obvious that he's been bulking up. It's just that they (his team) prefer to do it slowly and naturally, without crazy jumps between weight divisions.

When Pac was 31/32 he fought Hatton and weighed in 138 for a 140lb fight.

That shows you that he wasn’t struggling to make 140, it’s that he was struggling to fill out 140. Eating 8000 calories a day he could only weigh in 138.

People are either new fans or fickle too. I remember it like yesterday when people kept going on about how Pac is too small for 130 and HBO team going on about it right before he knocks out hector Velasquez.

When you see how Campbell looks at 147, it’s hard to understand how he gets to 135.

He basically weighed the same as Floyd did 30 days out from WW fights.

 8000 calories a day my ass.
But they definitely didn't struggle to fill out at 140.
Pacquiao was always just above 140 on fight nights even during his days at Super-Featherweight. He was short, but a big guy at those weights.
Now at 140 he didn't have to work to make the weight. So it was perfect for him. Same now at welterweight. He doesn't need to focus on making weight. He can just freely train and be in the best shape he can be, without compromising his body.
People underestimate the toll making weight can have.

Pacquiao might be small enough to make 135, but it doesn't mean he would benefit from it. He would have to drop 15lbs. And that is a mother****er, even for a young guy.

Ariza, Roach, and Fortune have all said that Pacquiao has to eat a ton to put the weight on and keep it on. It's a very strange thing to lie about. Most fighters make it a point to tell people that they are on track to making (losing) weight.

If you follow training camps, you'll see all fighters picking at healthy meals and small portions. Pacquiao, on the other hand, is always seen eating a ton of greasy Asian food. I think it was before the Matthysse fight where Pacquiao posted a picture of himself eating like a 6 course meal BEFORE heading to the weigh in. And you can see how skinny the guy is during his training camps.

Pacquiao can make 140 and be a monster. He can also make 135 without being drained.

Agreed. Since Morales I -he came in at 138lbs. By Margarito around 147lbs He meets the weigh in day before but always came in heavier, not by 2 or 3lbs, sometimes as much as 8-10lbs in 24 hours. Every tale of the tape dating back to Morales shows it.

You honestly think that to this day, Pacquiao has to work to make that 150lbs on fight night?
    You can´t be serious.
Dude was 145 on fight night back in 2005. Did he stuff his face back then as well?

Pacquiao eats so damn much because he works out so hard. He is a freak. Freddy and Buboy have to stop him from overtraining.
Manny is said to run uphill 8miles a day when he is not sparring. That alone is about 1000 calories.
After that run he does more exercises. And then later on it's the explosive workouts in the gym.
So naturally, he has to eat a lot to keep up that pace.

Makes since. A lot like Michael Phelps, what he ate was diabetes and high blood pressure on a plate for normal people, but his workrate was so off the charts...

    Same with Pac!

You do know that the other LW's are weighing in at 140+ right, often 145+. So of course anyone and everyone benefits from dropping weight, thats why literally EVERYONE is dehydrating down. Can you even find me a single fighter below HW that is not weighing in more on fight night than the actual fight weight?

You have to be consistent. If the FW limit is 126 and the fighters weigh-in 135-140 on fight night, then the optimum for a fighting weight of 135-140 is probably 126 hence why everyone is doing it. If its 145-150 and fighters weigh in 135, then thats your weight.

Lomachenko for example weighs in around 145 on fight night, should he then fight at WW against Spence and Crawford? Chocalatito used to weigh at 126-130 on fight night, should he have been fighting at FW-SFW to get an "advantage"?

And fight night weights are not that accurate anyhow because they're weighed in with clothes on, a full stomach, all which can add a few pounds.

Why would Pac consistently weigh-in WAYYY below the limit? 143-144 for WW bouts, 138 for JWW bouts. Thats because when they're training, the weight is coming off, and at bare, he's way lighter. Come fight night, he's full and wearing clothes.

I would say it was an advantage, if there was a precedent for it being an advantage. But so far, every fighting thinks its an advantage to dehydrate 10-20lbs yet somehow Pac is the only one to find this secret of being outweighed 10-20lbs an advantage.

Shoes, clothes, full belly. We don't know what he weighs exactly on fight night if stripped down.

Pac himself has said he can make LW and easily make JWW. I'll take his word for it, specially given his history with weigh-ins and the fact that he literally only came up to WW because ODLH dragged him up there. Prior to that he had ONE fight at LW.
