Richard Towers on Boxing Life Stories

I stopped listening when he claimed he had Klitschko out on his feet in sparring lol! Please! Do me a favour. Complete bull****. There's levels and there's no way an ATG in Klitschko could ever be troubled by someone who couldn't get to any decent level in Towers.

Also .. in every street fight or prison fight Towers had no matter how many knives or people outnumbered him he conveniently was claiming he always won the fight which is more BS.

 

I'd like to see one of these with Scott Harrison

 

I've got the Tunde one on now and he's so far up his own arse it's embarrassing.

 

I could never listen to that one I bet he's referenced Floyd Mayweather about 100 times.

 

Listened to this yesterday - thought it was fascinating. A crazy life he has led!

Hopefully Tris does a part 2 with Towers.

 

and claimed some guy in prison killed three cops with his bare hands which is easy to disprove as you can look up every cop killed in England.
the pd casts are good but towers def seems a bit of a story teller or atleast embellishes his stories quite a bit

 

I thought Towers was supposed to be ashamed of his past.

 

Didn’t enjoy that at all. Just find him such a strange, obnoxious character. Not my cup of tea... think Tris has recorded one with Kevin Mitchell which should be good

Did he say he almost knocked Wlad out. I remember the interview at the time in which he claimed Wlad couldn't hit him.

 

I really tried to like Tunde and gave it a good listen but I think he crosses the line from total self belief to unhealthy arrogance/delusion of his knowledge and capabilities.

 

I've met and come across a few Towers types in my time. My cousin was one but he has completely turned his life around and doesn't like to talk about what he did. Towers is full of s**t, he's talking absolute rubbish, I wouldn't even be surprised if he's sliding back into old habits because he seems to like talking about it.

 

thanks for recommendation on the podcast. listened to the Moore and towers ones. good stories, good listens - think a few in this thread takes things a little too serious...

 

Did Tris Dixon ever box? Hear him say a few time she’s trained here and there etc but can’t find anything about him fighting.

 

Never boxed but claims to have done some training in America. He was into rugby at school, there was an interview with him on Spencer Oliver's podcast where he talks about how he got into boxing journalism.

 

Bump. Met Richard today down at Adam Booths gym in Redhill. Really down to earth guy and full of knowledge, was nice to finally meet him in person having listened to boxing life stories.
