2019: the end of the pay per pudding phase?

The amount of people acting like AJ winning the rematch is likely astounds me.

He was beaten in every single department in one sided fashion.

Him winning the rematch would be a massive upset for me.

 

C'mon pal. Ruiz won, but this is heavyweight boxing. Ruiz was also a second or two away from getting stopped himself by Joshua had just one decent punch landed after he was knocked down. fine margins.

 

Agree, but that was one of the biggest right hands Joshua has landed after the Ruiz KD. Almost put Ruiz’s head into row Z. Not saying he can’t be starched but that is a chin of GGG levels.

 

He was NOT A second away from getting stopped whatsoever, he was caught square on with his feet out of position by AJ's BEST SHOTS flush on the chin, went down off balance, got up with a perfectly clear head, got hit flush AGAIN, laughed it off and smashed AJ'S nut in.

I give Joshua maybe 5% chance in the rematch.

If he wins I'll give him massive credit because I see it as practically a foregone conclusion that ruiz wipes him out even easier this time.

 

It's like saying Tyson could win a 3rd fight with Holyfield "cos he could knock him arrrt"

There's very little evidence to support that and a lot to the contrary.

 

I think any heavyweight can be starched, including Ruiz and definitely by someone with AJ’s power, especially if it’s timed perfectly. If Ruiz takes a big shot on the temple, he’s going down mate. So he needs to keep himself low & ride the big shots.

I believe Ruiz will win the rematch, I think Joshua hates fighting smaller men & Ruiz loves fighting taller men. He has very fast hands, clever with his footwork & the way he pivots so he’s always ready to throw a hailstorm of shots when his opponent commits is brilliant & overlooked for his reason for winning the first fight. Some fighters pivot really well but are content to throw single shots but he throws a rapid amount. I rate Joshua very highly, he’s one of the best heavyweights in the world but stylistically he needs to stay away from this one.

 

Yep I agree. I'm not sold at all on Joshua winning the rematch, but I'm making the point that everything in this division hangs on one punch. Imagine if Fury had been counted out by a compassionate ref at 8 seconds into being unconscious. I just think calling it either way with certainty is difficult on this one.

 

Totally agree, mate. Any fighter above 200ib can starch another fighter with a well timed shot.
