If HBO hadn't folded the 3rd fight would have happened already, or it would be scheduled for September. The problem is DAZN, with their contracts guaranteeing fights with certain opposition, etc.

One thing that should be mentioned is that a big reason that Canelo was promoted by DLH and GB to begin with is the language barrier. Canelo is better at speaking english now, but back in the early 2010s he didn't speak much english and he really needed a bilingual promoter that he could talk to in his native language. So it shouldn't be a surprise that he's been with DLH and GB, the main reason why he is under that promotion is the language barrier.

Why is Canelo so scared that he fought him twice already and walked him down in the second fight?

This is wrong. Even if you think GGG won, no such thing happened. Canelo was aggressive, moved forward, and landed the harder punches.

I find this hard to believe on several levels, especially since DLH was interviewed a couple months ago saying he wanted to make GGG wait, and made it clear he didn't want to make the 3rd fight. Why would he say that publicly he if promosed DAZN he would make the fight? Further it seemed like it was Canelo who convinced Oscar to try to negotiate a 3rd fight with GGG. After making that statement about wanting to make GGG wait, DLH said he was visiting Canelo in Mexico the next week. Then the week after that we hear reports that GGG refuses to fight in Vegas which was where the venue was booked.

None of this makes any sense if DLH had promosed DAZN a 3rd GGG fight when he signed the contract. And further from GGG's point of view, if he was promised a 3rd fight with Canelo when he signed with DAZN, then his supposed refusal to fight in Vegas when approached by GB would certainly be a wrench into that happening. Surely GGG's contract with DAZN wouldn't have anything about not fighting in Vegas. Kind of silly for GGG to lawyer up after having an opportunity to fight Canelo in September in Vegas. If he didn't want that fight to happen in Vegas, where it was scheduled, where it would make him the most money, then he can't complain about DAZN being in breach of contract. Both sides have to be willing to come together to make a fight happen. A network can't waive a magic wand to make fights happen.

But in all that time he STILL cannot speak any English. He's been around here longer than GGG who speaks english reasonably well as does Manny.

Well, you can call it "Canelo Inc", for example. And Oscar is just a CEO.

Oscar has made Canelo a very rich young man BUT he's also destroyed his legacy as an ATG. Yes the guy can fight BUT Everyone knows that ,just like Floyd before him, he's a manufactured fighter. Has "wins" he does not deserve, gets away with obvious Ped's abuse. He even turned his own countrymen against him so they named him El Pollo not too long ago. Not what a potential ATG does

Well he could be thick as a plank, or he could be taking the JCC route of not (publicly) speaking the enemies language, but taking their $$$$$$$$.

    Irrelevant.
The point was that Alvarez has always been willing to challenge himself.
Even with Golovkin, altho Alvarez avoided Golovkin for a while, he still fought him back to back.

Right after the fight he was caught on camera saying no qualms from me to the Canelo team. He later said the reason why he said the right person one was because of the style in which Canelo fought. Sounds to me like someone was back tracking as they were worried about missing out on the $$$ from the trilogy fight

I would say that GGG is a little more "cowardly" than Canelo. His resume is full of "taxi drivers". And he decided not to take risks and face with Ward, Froch, and Abraham when this fights were possible.

The law is the same for boxing and everything other contract. Just in boxing they usually settle out of court, which will likely happen here.

What matters in a contract is a provable agreement of the contract, whether verbal or written, getting broken. Golovkin and BJS never agreed to fight unconditionally, they agreed all the details but it was always conditional on Canelo. Whereas DAZN explicitly promised the third fight ....

P.S. I have some training in contract law so I do know what I'm talking about here.

    It's like this @dinovelvet :

If you provably break your word in a business context: potential legal problems (of course there are other factors).
