Because Duran and Pacquiao are both naturally smaller guys against a style not good for them.

Thing with Floyd is he fought guys on his terms when he felt it was the best time to get them, he didn’t fight enough guys in their prime or when they were the guy to beat. He didn’t do something epic where he had a huge deficit that would be able to be looked back on in the future. Manny fought guys that were in their prime aswell as beating a younger hungry lion at age 40. Manny has more iconic memorable moments. The Thurman fight will do wonders for him in 20 years time when looking back at his career.

Who considers Pac greater? All the expert polls I have seen rate Mayweather higher.

It's much a case of what you like I guess. I wouldn't consider anyone wrong for thinking either Pacquiao or Mayweather was the greater fighter. Both were exceptional talents who did exceptional things.

Manny running through the rest of the Fab 4 is something to marvel out but Floyd shutting out Canelo is no mean feat either. Both did amazing things despite having such contrasting styles and to reduce either to their post prime fight is myopic in my opinion. Manny was the more entertaining for sure though.

I think it's like the CR7 Messi debate. Pick either and you're not wrong.

It’s not because they are smaller, simply, they achieved more. Beating a guy that has done as much as Pacquiao shows you are a great fighter, but you don’t get his achievements, just like triangle theories are bull****.

No idea what you’re talking about. I would have said McDonalds vs Burger King.

I think there's a clear winner in McDonald's vs Burger King. Burger King KO1.

But 5 Guys is the current champ.

Greatness comes from accomplishment, not from H2H matchups. If you want to base greatness on H2H matchups, then Barkley would be greater than Hearns, but that's not the case.

Pac started out as a Flyweight (112). Floyd started at Super Featherweight (130). Pac's not supposed to be doing what he's doing at 147. By comparison, Floyd would have to move up to 168 and do as well as Pac did at 147 to match his greatness. Even today, Pac is basically a lightweight fighting at welterweight.

The difference is that Floyd ducked VADA testing, the $5 million per dirty test penalty, and then used illegal IVs.

Reach and height is a massive advantage. A lengthier fighter beating a shorter fighter doesn't necessarily mean the taller fighter is better p4p. Barkley had Hearns' number because they were similar length, negating the size advantage Hearns had over smaller fighters. Thus Hearns had to rely more on his skills than just being a length bully.

Pacquiao fighting Mayweather was like if Mayweather fought a top 5 154-160 p4p fighter that was 5'11 with 77 reach. Wonder how that would've turned out.

Pacquiao fought fighters who were shot or drained.

The first title he ever won he lost it seven months later, by KO.
The LW title was complete bogus, I don't consider him a LW champion. David Diaz, who got the title via a gift decision.
JrMW title won at 150 aganst a shot Maragrito.

IF Floyd really had beaten Pac as bad as his lackeys claim then maybe he'd have stood a chance but he DID NOT LEGITIMATELY BEAT Pac. That "fight" was a disgrace
IV Gate alone should have made the NSAC make the fight a N/C at least & Floyd suspended BUT No The NSAC issued Floyd a retroactive TUE for the ILLEGAL EXCESSIVE 750 ml of saline Floyd received in his own home THREE WEEKS AFTER he was caught red handed CHEATING !!!!
Then had the gall to issue a statement "Mr Mayweather did nothing wrong we will not be investigating" ROFLMAO
Ped's Cheats dont make Fighter of the Era !!!
