Hughie to pull out injured 10 days before the fight and replaced with Dave Allen. Cue Dave Allen , Cinderella man, with a chance to crash the world rankings.

My biggest gripe with Hennessy and his matchmaking was the the neglect of progressing Hughie on the traditional path of British, Commonwealth, Euro and then fringe World level. Hearn could be making the same mistake; even more so with the fact that Hearn could comfortably use Hughie to prop up PPV’s and fill Saturday night cards with a plethora of heavyweights at his disposal. Unlike poor old Mick who threw his mortgage and the kids pocket money to pay opponents.

If the gamble pays off them hats off; however I don’t understand the need to rush him and put him in with world level. Povetkin is a dangerous fighter and a beat down or a KO leaves Hughie with nowhere to go.

Personally I’m not convinced it’s a good match up.

Hughie would be better entering this year's Strictly Coming Dancing.

He's got those dancing feet. Cha cha cha.

    But naff all else.

You have to give him credit for taking tough fights. Tyson should be fighting Povetkin .

Hughie's not blessed with enough boxing ability or brains to make the best decisions. He is reliant on his team and those around him and off the back of two duds he's now in with no.7 in the world (or thereabouts). He's not been managed well but I hope for the best for him.

Hughie is a weird one. I think I've seen most of his fights and I don't really have memories of any. Which is odd I normally remember something in the back of my mind from neatly every fight I've seen if it's mentioned. The sexton ko I remember pretty well cos my missus found it hilarious and the recent fight sticks out a bit because I thought he looked like absolute shite. I'd love to like hughie fury and I don't hate him I hope he does well, he's one of the only heavyweights in this era, that has proven he will fight anyone. But he's just so boring.

There's a friendly sparring session on Youtube with Tyson and Hughie which ends in a wrestling farce, but prior to the grappling there's a real sense of Peter's frustration that Hughie can't do what Tyson does, which was to move and dance rings round him for fun.

Here. The difference in ability is stark.

I've seen that before I totally agree with you. I think he's a real one off you know. He was born very premature put into special care I think he died and came back to life a few times too. That's just crazy to me.

What he's done to his body isn't any good for him. No man can get past the damage of the booze and the coke. So if he can get back to his best before his probably early peak in my opinion, he can definitely take over the heavyweight division. I think he beats wilder in rematch and think he schools and Ruiz.

Ruiz is a welcome addition but I still have Fury and Wilder as freaks in the division and for different reasons. At the end of their fight maybe they looked at one another and thought "there's a man I don't want to fight again anytime soon". It's panning out that way.

Hughie Fury isn't quite silky enough and definitely isn't nasty enough to beat elite fighters. Still I admire his willingness to test himself against the best, but he's pretty boring to watch to be honest.

Maybe it was a bit harsh. I watch most of the Furys' stuff and it's never boring and Hughie is a nice fella but he never comes across as particularly sharp. He's ponderous in the way he talks and boxes.

I don't believe Peter has made the best choices for Hughie and particularly with the decision not to cancel the Pulev fight when they knew Hughie's eye would be bust open from the sparring injury. But Hughie also has his own mind and as the man going in to potentially take a leathering, he's also to blame for the bad choice.

But perhaps Peter can explain Hughie's mindset best. They keep banging the drum in the hope that something happens :/

Big up for Hughie taking a tough one. I think this depends on what Pov has left and how he has trained for this fight.
It will be Pov by KO or Fury points.
If Fury is still there after 7 or 8 he will have a good chance on the cards. We will see how good his chin is in this one. Pov will probably try and walk through him after feeling his power.

Hadn't seen that, it's funny, but also a little sad that they've fallen out so acrimoniously. Like you say the gap in ability is pretty stark.
