So you have a problem with fat? How about criticizing his performance against Joshua?

Not sure where you got the idea that the key to boxing was being a tub of lard.

Ruiz performed well and beat Joshua in spite of, not because of, being obese.

You brought up the weights and called him a "265ib tank", when he came in 20Ibs lighter and was still very flabby.

A tank who walked down Joshua and ate his punches.

Maybe it’s purely coincidental that virtually every Mexican heavyweight before him had a similar physique.

And he’d eat and **** out Baer in one night.

Accusing people of biased when comparing weights but not mentioning Ruiz's obesity. Not hypocritical at all

Is your position that the huge weight/size gap between Schmeling and Ruiz is basically irrelevant because it's all fat?

I hate Baer discussions here because people are so against him that they can't say anything positive about him. Saying that he's unathletic, uncoordinated or untalented is just wrong at every possible aspect.

No I'm simply pointing out the hypocrisy in saying even with Schmeling dripping wait (an advantage) he is nowhere near Ruiz's weight while neglecting to point out Ruiz also has an advantage (at least in numbers) because of his sheer obesity.

It isn't hypocrisy. It would be hypocrisy if Ruiz didn't live in the gym and weren't conditioned for 12 rounds. It might be hypocrisy if Memo weren't in his camp to build his fitness and Ruiz could only throw one sloppy punch at a time. It's not hypocrisy if he just displayed better fitness than a heavyweight champion with a perfect physique.

What you are is a person who thinks heavyweight boxing is a bodybuilding contest. And that makes you a casual.

I don't think heavyweight boxing is a bodybuilding contest. I'm just pointing out your double standards. It's OK to pick Ruiz but your argument was not logical at all.

Where did his last performance suggest that he wasn't well conditioned?

You're clearly not grasping my point so I think we should agree to disagree.

Ruiz has not a wasted ounce. Pure, modern quality flesh.

You don’t like being questioned about judging a boxer based on body type.

No. As I said you can't comprehend my argument (not your fault, it was harder to word than I thought) so it's best to just drop it.

Interestingly many of the people whop are now banging the drum for Ruiz, are people who criticized Baer's era because Tony Galento was able to establish himself as the top contender.

The inexplicable tends to get rationalized very quickly when it happens today!
