The reason to pull out is that Prograis could get paid well to fight bums on DAZN like Farmer is doing.
It won’t be Prograis who has demanded legal action. He probably doesn’t know **** about what’s going on. It will be his promoter and management team who have launched the legal action and told Prograis what to do. Prograis does not strike me as a ducker.
Regis and his team have known there's been money issues, why didn't they threaten to pull out or take legal action after the quarters or the run up to semi's.Why now? He doesn't strike me as a ducker either cuttthroat but if it's just about money then it's a bit late to try circumvent the taylor fight.
They probably did behind the scenes. Legal action is always preceded by warning letters etc. There is a procedure behind all of that. We wouldn’t be at this stage if there wasn’t some sort of impropriety by the WBSS and when there is fight camp money and purse money on the line and mortgages needing paying, no one can blame the fighters, managers and promoters involved.
We need an undisputed World Heavyweight Champion and it looks like the only way of having one is a WBSS or other tournament with all signing up with no excuses - it is not as if any of the participants are counting their last million. I would strip the belt for any plastic champion refusing to participate.
Both the bantams and cruisers appear to have their dates set in November and December. Surely Prograis should have been keeping himself ready for an October date, I bet Taylor has. Unfortunately in one Sunday paper the possibility of the dreaded Taylor - Burns has reared its ugly possibility again, with Reluctant Regis pulling out. Postol should be the replacement for the final.
Or looks in fact like he will he made to wait. I still see him fighting for the vacant title soon... This content is protected
I think that could be a blessing. Catterall should fight an Indongo, Algieri even a Flanagan. He needs world level experience before a world title shot.
At last a mention of Taylor and the reluctant one. On Mike Costello's podcast this week. Josh has been sparring Campbell for the would be Paul Newman's crack at Loma. Costello made only a passing reference to Prograis, but that's more than anyone else has done! Pity Taylor can't just go after the more than willing double belt holder, Ramirez, in a sure fire classic and leave Regis thinking of what might have been.
