Since when has he been “found not guilty”? Hearn hasn’t even used that phrase. He was cleared to fight. That’s all. We have no idea why he was cleared to fight and that’s what’s so shady about it. No one associated with Whyte has denied that he has failed a drug test and if he has failed a drug test that’s totally irreconcilable with being “found not guilty”.
Is there any doubt now that Hearn ****ed up the rematch clause in the AJ v Ruiz contract? In the aftermath of the first fight, Hearn was bragging that Ruiz would have to do as he is told because of the rematch clause. In the end the fight gets scheduled on a neutral territory. It’s relevant for this thread because Hearn was vocal in his criticism of Fat Mick for the rematch clause in the Wlad-Fury fight but now look at him. Clearly that contract wasn’t bulletproof as he implied.
How about 75k attendance at Cardiff, home crowd for AJ and a gate and PPV earning of around £50m anyway? Surely home advantage to guarantee a win and allow British fans to watch in the stadium would be more important than some Saudi blood money. Clearly Haymon’s lawyers dismantled the rematch clause because from the get-go all Ruiz has been saying is that he won’t fight in the UK and Hearn countering that he’ll do as told in accordance with the contract. Ultimately Hearn’s been told by the fat high school drop out.
It certainly softened the blow ,that's for sure However I still believe if they could have done UK they would have 84 mil is huge but very short term, I personally believe if AJ wins then there a whole lot more to be made and fighting in the UK gives them the best chance of earning the long term money going forward Its a great deal but there was something wrong with the paper work somewhere
AJ is a sitting duck now..... Fury plays with him Wilder sparks him clean out Ruiz slaps him silly again It wont matter if he is fighting in Watford ,Cardiff,New York or Riyadh ..
Personally whilst I can acknowledge his weaknesses ,I think its premature to call him done He is more than capable of beating Ruiz, who whilst good nobody bar a few fans bigged up before he pulled off the upset win Now it appears that a lot of people are talking about him like he is the second coming of prime Tyson Its a 50/50 for me
Haymon really must be some operator. No question Hearn wanted that fight in the UK. Hearn himself referred to Haymon as a genius many months ago.
Apparently Ruiz is getting 10% in the rematch. The unified heavyweight champion of the world is getting ten bloody percent. These rematch clauses are unbelievable and shouldn't be allowed.
I really think Sky may be the ones ducking. Is not a good publicity move their end. Showcasing a nation like Saudi.
If he wins though he gets a good few quid and earns another fortune against Wilder etc to unify Whilst its a small percentage, only months back i doubt he envisioned life being essentially paid for He grabbed his chance and its in his hands to keep the big pay days coming in
But he's already taken the small % in the first fight. He's champion now. I'm not saying he should get the lions share or anything like that but surely a unified champion getting 10% shouldn't be allowed by the governing bodies. It's a promoters loophole, end of.
Failing drug tests, turning up with random gloves, dodgey rematch clauses. Eddie is running out of loopholes!
Agreed Long term the sport should rid itself of this loophole But its been like this for donkeys and i cant ever see it changing
What utter rubbish. You do realise Ruiz didn't have to sign the contract , right ? He could've taken a leaf out of Dillian Whyte's book and refused the fight because he didn't like the rematch clause.
