AJ on points. He can box like he did vs Parker and win a wide decision. I see a lot of people on here saying Ruiz is the better boxer, he really isn't. He can just take a punch to land a punch and that's something AJ can't do. AJ's movement was actually very good vs Povetkin in rounds 3/4/5 - if he can do similar I don't think Ruiz will be a problem.
He only boxed like that against Parker because the ref wouldn’t let them have any kind of fight on the inside.
There's literal videos of the ref admonishing Parker for catching him with punches ffs. Paintdry Parker of all people. No wonder AJ became a human pinball on June 1st; with someone who came to fight and wasn't up against two Matchroom employees in the ring on the night.
Round 6 in particular. Joshua gets caught, retreats 3/4s of the way round the ring, Parker goes for him and gets bollocked off the ref. Incredible mate.
I hear what you’re saying, but the same fighters don’t always produce the same fight. Froch took Grooves (I) far too lightly, & similar to AJ, his head wasn’t in the fight tactically or emotionally. Very lucky to win with the help of the ref. The rematch - completely different, Froch dominating behind a good jab - leading to that devastating KO. AJ will be totally switched on for Ruiz II, so let’s see what happens.
Hiya Fanta, how are you, mate? You should contribute more with longer posts, giving your thoughts on boxing things. You’re wasted with posts like this. Where are you from? Ps. I’m bladdered. Drank way too much whiskey.
I think this time Joshua hurts Ruiz pretty early too, but doesnt go to finish so eagerly so the match continues and is pretty "boring". Ruiz has some success with fast hooks, but this time no shots to the back of the head so AJ can take it better. Ruiz will go to the body more this time and that slows AJ and hurts him. But around round 10, AJ lands fast 2 punch combo and Ruiz goes down. Ruiz gets up and fights back, but AJ gives more punches and referee waves it off, while Ruiz is still punching back and is not badly hurt. So Im predicting little bad/controversial stoppage and the third fight gets made in next year.
