Boxing hasn't evolved since Ray Robinson's time. People were doing the shoulder roll back then. Floyd didn't invent it. They had hooks jabs and straights. There aren't any new punches. They held the guard like now, had a stance like now, moved side to side in and out like now. I'd say that Robinson has better footwork, aggression, and combination punching than Floyd. There's been no improvement. The wold class fighters are roughly the same quality. The elite champions are mostly stylists who do things uniquely; so comparisons of them are about as valid as comparing people of the same time but at different weights. When it comes to training it's the same: push ups, jogging, heavy bag, mits, and sparring. Diet is going to only have marginal effects. The only place where you might have an improvement is in pharmaceutical drugs. But that's not skills.
Yeah I agree, bit he did dismantle Canelo at 154 (150), which is a top 5 Floyd performance. So that Floyd vs the Hearns that spun Duran's head like the exorcist would be the missmatch I was talking about. After All Mayweather does need some hope
There has been technical improvements, like Technology in training methods and PEDs but that's really it to be honest. And even that's only helpful for physique
Floyd couldnt break an egg ROFLMAO Thats why he had to cheat by injecting a banned painkiller Xylocaine into his fragile little handy wandys. ROFL Only the NSAC allow Xylocaine use & they changed their rules to allow it when Floyd got caught cheating AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Man, I couldnt disagree more. Complete disagreement. You are bored? go watch a robinson's fight. Look at the way he punches the body. Boxing has not improved? If I hadnt read you here for years I would say you are trolling me. Make the test, seriously, I'll take a minute. Go watch a robinson's fight and watch how he punches the body. It's awfull. Ofc boxing has improved, and even more, it has improved A LOT.
Floyd was a low punch output guy who liked to slow things down and pot shot at an old man's pace. He'd punch once and run away. I think he was at his worst and out of his comfort zone when he was pressured and couldn't get away. If you threw one punch Floyd would counter you, but if you threw a combination you'd catch Floyd and smother his offense. That's why he had trouble with Maidana and why he wouldn't touch Margarito or Williams. Furthermore, Zab Judah showed Floyd had trouble with fast fighters. I'd also point out that Mayweather usually had reach and height advantages over most of his opponents. Most of his tactics are suited to dealing with slower, shorter fighters with less reach.
But you are all trolling me today? floyd was 21 wins 19 kos in superfeatherweight, he had that problem in his hands and he had to stop his punching frequence more and more, and adapt his boxing. But "floyd couldnt break an egg"? it's april's fools today? I am in the boxing forum isnt it? I'm not in the football forum... let me check...
man, floyd advantage reach? when he couldnt even reach superwelter weight and he spent half of his career fighting bigger fighters? Nah, let's agree on disagree. It's obvious that we dont think the same way. No problem with that.
Plenty of 154 fighters would **** Floyd up. His style was best suited to fighting people shorter than him who he had reach advantage over. You put him in the ring with prime versions of Nino Benvenuti, Tommy Hearns, Terry Norris, Julian Jackson, Oscar De La Hoya, Felix Trinidad, Erislandy Lara, and Saul Alvarez and he might be lucky to win one.
Prime mayweather is superfeather, imho. Buy maybe I'm biassed, because is the floyd I like the most. Beautiful boxing, and entertaining too.
LOL I'm not surprised you dont know where you are I bet that happens quite often with you You fantasize a lot too like PimpC does I know ?? Just do as the nice man in the white coat tells you to do
