That’s my opinion too he has 1 punch ko power in both hands and is a top 5 trap setter p4p in any weight or era
Qawi never beat a decent heavy in his entire career. He was what he was. A non-entity in the heavyweight division. Langford himself was hardly unbeatable at heavy, and that is in his archaic era. He beats scrubs like Corbett and Hart but not many more.
Pretty much agree with this. Willard might present some of the problems that Fulton and Wills did with his size. Other than that, I would give him a chance against Sharkey and Schmeling (and Braddock) tho not sure I am going to favor him. I would also favor him over Jeffries. Langford's brilliance was in his range, beating Gans thru Wills with so many along the way. It's not necessarily about his heavyweight infallability.
Langford may have been able to take the following HW champs all in their prime: Mike Tyson Evander Holyfield Riddick Bowe Lennox Lewis The K2 brothers and lest I forget The Great Trevor Berbick
Has anybody mentioned Braddock yet as a pretty sure loser to Langford? I think Johannsson too, though he could bang pretty good with his right. I would also favor Sam over Fitz, though I know he has his followers.
He would beat Berbick and Hide, and he has the capability to beat Charles,Norton ,Patterson, and Frazier imo
Among linear champions, I'd bet on him against: Marvin Hart Tommy Burns Jess Willard Jack Sharkey Primo Carnera Joe Walcott Jim Braddock Ingeman Johannson Leon Spinks Close fights with: Jim Corbett Bob Fitzsimmons Jack Dempsey Gene Tunney Max Schmeling Ezzard Charles Rocky Marciano Floyd Patterson Joe Frazier Buster Douglas (only Tyson fight) Evander Holyfield George Foreman (2nd career)
