I don't know what to think there, whether he is being greedy or fleeced. if the deal is unfair you cant really blame him, if AJ is getting some ludicrous amount and him a pittance in comparison?

 

He is being an idiot because if he wins as most expect he will then he controls everything from that moment on. Just take the fight whatever and do the business and then you are the man who can dictate everything!

 

How disappointingly predictable from Andy Ruiz who continues to resemble less and less the humble character we came to admire leading up to and immediately after the first fight.

 

just heard good old American Mike Coppinger doing an interview on the radio stating that Ruiz signed a contract with a set $9M fee at a time and location to be determined. Is he pushing matchroom propaganda too?

 

I hear you on both points. I guess the thing is it's just the way business is done and if you don't like it then you have to wade through the swamp to become mandatory challenger.

 

If the shoe was on the other foot and it was a British fighter who was doing the bellyaching about a contract he'd signed against a big name American champion then you better believe that the posters defending Ruiz's increasing reluctance to agree to fight a second time would be all over that guy.

It's the standard hypocrisy of so many posters on this site.

 

AJ is taking the **** with that 84M though. Ruiz should threaten to vacate all the titles just to frighten them into giving him more money.

 

Make sense, if they can change the location they can surely get a higher purse. I don't see why people are calling Ruiz out on this, the guy is finally getting paid the kind of money his skill rewards these days, how about people call out Hearn and Joshua for wanting to cash out.

 

If $9 million was agreed when he signed the contract then it’s absolutely irrelevant what Joshua is earning. There’s nothing to negotiate he signed the contract. Take the money win the rematch and then demand what you want.

 

Why is business genius Al Haymon not getting more stick for letting his client sign such a shitty contract?

With Hearn and Joshua seeing Ruiz as a mere formality surely they could of secured better deals for a rematch if he won? I mean it's not like Matchroom envisaged a situation in which they'd have to honour such a contract so one would imagine that they'd have been more flexible on those terms.

What are you going on about? The contract said Ruiz had to fight where AJ wants. AJ wanted to fight in Cardiff but the fight has just been announced in Saudi Arabia. Terrible sight for brand AJ as viewership will be heavily diminished on TV and relatively non-existent live. Hearn has a contract, but he clearly doesn't have the balls to try and take Haymon to court to enforce it. LOLZ.

 

This rematch is not happening is it? Jolly good. The bomb squad can report back to Al Haymon, and bring him the good news. Some of those shiny belts can be relinquished now, and handed over to Deontay on a silverplatter.

 

I heard from Ruiz's Nutritionist that the hold-up Stipulation on the Contract is that it MUST include a Lifetime Supply of Snickers Bars for the Ruiz Family!!
