    Its hilarious Ruiz signed the contract agreeing to $9 million for a rematch. And now he argues "its not enough money, I want more". Then why did you sign the contract? What a terrible moron.

    Joshua has is picking up a bigger pay check by fighting in Saudi. Have a look at what Ruiz trainer has just said. He has admitted that they’ve signed a contract and no say. Andy is Eddies *****

    @minemax

    You're blithely assuming you know what the contract states though. You clearly don't else his fight would be going ahead. Think on.

    It's insane isn't it. I know some of the cranks on here think Eddie literally walks on water - but I've been surprised by some of the low-key Matchroom FC sleeper cells on here who've come out of the woodwork now Eddie's having his feet held to fire.

    The propaganda is stronk.

    Imagine a year ago taking comfort from the apparent contractual advantage of Hearn over a fat bloke who beat up his golden boy. I can hear the sound of a barrel being scraped. Anything that makes you feel better, though....

    I find it weird that people are fans of promoters. It's about as beta as a man can get....

    Hearn seems to have contractual issues all of the time. He's full of **** if it keeps happening over and over.

    This is all part of the dance. The fight is going to happen, just need to argue about the split for slightly longer.

    I do wish they weren't doing it in Saudi, tho.

    Yup, and people assume contracts can't be challenged. I would expect Ruiz' lawyers will be questioning the $9m for the rematch if the overall financial package for fighting in Saudi is so much larger than it would have been in Cardiff or back at MSG. Expressed as a percentage, $9m is a lesser purse than for the first fight based on the figures we have been provided for Saudi...

    It is relevant when a significant change to any agreed terms leads to a significant change in benefits to either party. If the fight has an 80+ million dollar pot, and Ruiz only gets 9 million, that contract is absolutely open to renegotiation.

    The only way it becomes 'irrelevant' is if there was no agreed location (which we kept hearing was not the case) and/or fixed number for Ruiz's side of the contract only. Even then, there are plenty of avenues a contract lawyer can attack this in our tubby champion's favor. Either way, I'm not going to blame someone who is one half of a fight generating nearly 100 million dollars in profit and seeing only single digit millions (which he then has to distribute to team/management/etc, significantly decreasing that 9 million) from trying to get a bigger slice of the pie...though I will confess that I would LOVE to have Ruiz's problem; I'd take that cash and follow the '**** you' plan.[/MEDIA]

    Good on Ruiz.

    He's the A-side so he should be getting the bigger share of the pot.
