I've been a fan of Aussie boxing for decades and realise almost every fight down under in recent years appears to be PPV with a decent card seldom free to air but like Sandman posted I can understand it if it eventually results in a massive PPV stouch but these lead up PPV's need to be proportionally priced, in recent months the unwarranted ppv cancer has spread up here also ...Stifflers hated ppv but bought them anyway because he loved the sport .
If Horn gets past Zerafa I wouldn't be shocked if he and his team tried making a fight with Geale. Match ups like that are right up their alley they would say stuff like Geale is a former unified champion who has beaten Mundine you could just picture the story written by some mong like Greant Lea Kieza.
This is why the Aussie scene gets **** on fossils fighting, cherry picks, biased nationalistic fanboys refusing to accept reality. It's not hating. It's just being real. There are good fights that can be made obviously but more often than not it seems like the former is what happens.
Stay in your lane yank and stop trying to stir **** up on things you have even less knowledge then some of the fanboys and haters in the thread, nobody with a clue about the sport and local scene is in denial and are fully aware of when fighters are taking easier money options and fighting former champs past there best so need to come in trying to assert your superiority. I agree to a certain extent with some of your points but in prizefighting nobody should begrudge fighters making as much as they can while they can and very few would pass up making the easy money fighting guys like Mundine which is massive compared to what they would usually make fighting anybody else or even what they could fighting for a world title, there's world champions not even making half of what Horn got for example. It's false and unfair to pretend that aussies boxers are any different or worse then fighters from other nations when it comes to quality of opposition, the most basic search on boxrec of a variety different fighters records will show that, with top asian fighters for example known for fighting novices and fighters with negative records
You are 100% right mate, looks like it didn't take long for you to get a reply from a nationalistic fanboy. Jeff Horn is on the same level of being a scumbag as Danny Green who conned the Aussie public for years fighting has been's, weight draining opponents, bringing up smaller guys to fight and of course fighting completely shot fighters. This has been the PPV recipe for Aussie boxing for almost 2 decades. Jeff Horn has taken the baton from Danny Green. Tszyu Jnr is on PPV but at least he is stepping up his level of competition.
I've only ever had a problem with 4-5 posters on here,a couple were racist POS posters who got banned and its no surprise to see the other 2 clueless haters here agreeing on the same opinions and false arguments attempting to **** on the aussie fighters.
I think it's more a case of a few clued up posters venting their frustrations on the current ppv scams going on not only in the antipodies but throughout the world , that said Australia are streets ahead of the rest of the world when it comes to dire PPV's ...anyone remember Greenie v Briggs ? anyone care to admit they bought it on here ? Come on don't be shy fellas ..
Everybody knows boxing hasn't been strong in this country for a while with only a couple of world champs, the limited tv time and sponsorship money available which all the fighters are struggling and fighting each other for scraps,so I guess it's easy for the trolls on here to throw around unwarranted insults and criticisms to those who take 1-2 big easy money fights along the way. With the lack of money a huge reason the sport struggles to attract and keep the best athletes and young talent in the country, like others here I've seen 1st hand the struggles of a couple mates of mine who were former pro fighters who came thru the amateur ranks from juniors, working so hard with little reward for there effort, so i don't have any issue with those fighters lucky enough to get a big money fight, which as well as getting to the top what pro fighting is all about.
Agreed mate, this DBS fella appears to be some self righteous holier than thou type. Jeff Horn has become PPV all from an entire corrupt ruse by the Queensland government who bought him a victory over Pacquiao in order to scam the public into paying money to watch him fight in mismatches. Mundine brought the rugby league hype, Danny Green sponged off Mundine's name, Tszyu jnr is piggy backing off of his old mans name but Jeff Horn was created simply out of pure corruption.
I don't think anyone in this thread begrudges a bloke who risks his health for a living a decent payday but it's the bull**** way these PPV's are sold and the false claims of world title honours earned as if they were some undisputed world beater when in reality they were a partial holder of a fragmented title , real boxing fans also understand what sells PPV'S but the rubbish used in the promotion gets some peoples goats up .
I agree and understand the frustration and i recommended lowering the price a couple days ago in thread,as there's no way the upcoming Tszyu and Horn cards should be the same price as big world title fight. What it does do in some instances is give an opportunity to watch fights that wouldn't have been available at all to watch, they just need to find a more appropriate price, unfortunately Mundine set a bad precedent in this country for non title and other shitty fights being on PPV
Mundine & Green took taking the pias to a level we are unlikely to see the like of ever again in the entire future history of the sport and yes ppv proportionately priced could be advantageous to all concerned
This Midnite Prowler character appears to be a fan boy with a limited boxing knowledge, who as well as been proven to be a liar appears to be showing signs of dementia and delusional tendencies with a sick obsession with Jeff Horn, especially after his infamous doesn't belong in the same ring as Pacquio comment.
Horn does not belong in the same ring as Pacquaio. Pac's team have recently referred to Horn as a irrelevant desperate man.
Some fan boys clearly never learn and choose to live in denial then face a reality they don't like and can't handle
