Those are the facts. You can continue to deny them. While you're at it, you can keep pretending that Mayweather didn't use illegal IV fluids.

Pro boxing has always been about beating those you should beat and stepping it up in the big fights.Check out Haglers resume for this.
Manny Ps career has been exceptional for the amount of big fights he's had.

Except Marquez never fought and beat Thurman. He did fight Bradley and lost. He got schooled for a good portion of the fight. He cherry picked Bradley right after he had gotten concussed by Provodnikov. So don't assume he'd beat the guys Pac has beaten. Those are Pac's wins.

    US population 1960: 180 million
    US population 2010: 309 million

On top of that boxing is much more inclusive of other countries today than it was back then. I don't understand how you can watch boxing today and think that the talent pool is poorer than it was in 1960 or 1970.

Go down to the classic section. They always have British Bob Fitzsimmons and Canadian Sam Langford right at the top all time.

Jmm and Chris John both deserve more respect than they get.

Population grew but interest in boxing decreased. Everyone used to box now no one boxes. If you double your population but interest reduces to maybe an 1/8, you are left with a talent pool 1/4 as big. That's a simple math problem.

Also, if you just look at the number of fights listed in the records we aren't at the peak. We aren't at the nadir either. I think the sport got more popular in other countries and that has kept things more or less afloat as they've decreased in the US. Although, it's inaccurate to represent boxing as unpopular in other countries in bygone eras. There were tons of foreign champs. The sport was just dominated by Americans.

I don't give JMM anymore credit nor do I give Tim Bradley. Pacman wins now and somehow Marquez looks better. Pacman is the one who beat Thurman. JMM would not have. Barkley beat Hearns, but he would have never beaten Virgil Hill. Sometimes the style is there, but the great fighters like Hearns or Pacman can beat more fighters than the guys who beat them with one punch.

Of course you can't give credit to either, But its just amazing how he was able to beat a more prime Pacquiao and this young "lions " can't even come close to beat a 40 year old Pacquiao, Ohh and imo Bradley never beat Pacquiao
