He would not be the strongest in all of his fights. 220lbs at 6'3 is nothing special in terms of strength and muscles. He would probably get rag dolled around the ring by the likes of Joshua, Whyte, Fury and Joyce. A 30lb weight advantage is huge.
Not all 6 foot 3 men 220lbs are created equal. Wilder by definition is smaller than Foreman, being 212 stretched across 6 ft 7 and yet...... Foreman is very strong for his size and make NO MISTAKE, he would NO GET ragdolled by ANY MAN. Foreman will walkdown most men today in the HW, and they would do nothing but cry themselves down to the canvas. Foreman was a monster, he gave no shits about what was coming his way, and he would send back plenty of his own at the same time, enough to keep any HW in history honest. Only someone as crazy as Mo Ali could take his punishment and not go down, because of SHEER WILLPOWER, he had an entire continent behind him Mo Ali, no guy today would have the motivation to take Foremans power.
Wilder is not billed as being some super strong freak when it comes to strength. I'm talking about strength not punching power. Height also comes into play in clinches, the much lighter Wilder was able to throw Ortiz around the ring. Wilder has huge power because of his height not his weight. If he was 6'3 and weighed the same I highly doubt he would have the same power.
This monster Foreman thing is a myth. He was the bigger man in the 70s and dominated people with his size but today his size would be nothing special, in fact he would be seen as being on the smaller side. When talking about Foreman people seem to create a hybrid version, one who has the youth and stamina of the 70s with the weight and punch resistance of the 260lb 90s version. Such a boxer never existed.
Any version of Foreman hit hard enough, was durable enough... and had the same mentality of "im going to hit you now, oh you can punch back? That's cute" Hey just listen to Evander Holyfields account of Foreman, he fought both him and Tyson, and Evander was small, but big enough to stand with the biggest heavies. Holyfield remarked "Foreman hit me so hard, I thought he knocked all my teeth out in one go". Monster thing is NOT a myth, Foreman's power was very real, for ANY era. And this is coming from someone who just put down Mo Ali as losing to Wilder. Wilder is smaller than Foreman, so explain his success genius.
It would resemble Hagler v Hearns. Wilder, the lanky guy with the big punch ala Tommy & George the tank ala Marvin. Foreman would simply walk him him down and ****ing well destroy him.
These "fantasy matches" really remind me of some chilhdhood conversations....who would beat who if that guy was like that and other guy was blahblah. If we throw in fighters from the past, is it more childish to throw in fighters from the future then as well? The thing is...I dont really know what is the point of these conversations at all. Having fun? Well, no one doesnt seem to have fun at all. Using some "boxing knowledge"? Well, everyone´s guess is as good as anyones, we will never find out the outcome. I just wonder if all sports are like this or is it just boxing thing? Are there stuff in ice hockey forums like: Can Penguins from 97 beat todays Carolina Hurricanes etc. PRIME New York Rangers will beat anything! etc. I dont know and I find it funny if there is things like that going on =) Funny and childish too. Not that having some childish fun is bad thing all the time. But anyways, go on.
You're high, buddy. Or you've never seen Deontay Wilder fight. Wilder is excellent at controlling the distance. That's what he does. He is one of the best at it. The only time one could argue Wilder didn't control the distance in a fight was when he fought a fleet-footed Tyson Fury, who is 6'9" (a half a foot taller than Foreman). And even then, Fury only landed 46 jabs over 12 rounds. That's fewer than four landed jabs a round. Fury landed more jabs in the first minute of his last fight with Chisora than he landed over 12 rounds against Wilder. Even on a bad night against a giant with a jab, Wilder did a solid job controlling the distance. I swear, people are so busy badmouthing Wilder they never actually seem to catch what's going on in his fights.
