Yeah it makes it more likely. Doesn’t matter who the promoter is, the problem nowadays is all about the networks. Now they’re all on the same one.
The account is suggesting Frank has been done by MTK re Saunders. It is strange for Frank to let one of his best fighters leave who I assume was still under contract.
Why do I think Hearn signed him? Because he thinks he can make a load of money sticking Saunders v Smith on at a stadium on PPV first and foremost.
How did I forget the Eubank rematch? There's another big fight that's easily made. Put a good undercard on Saunders/Jr 2 and Eddie has himself a PPV. Say what you want about Saunders' ticket sales; give him a good dance partner and the sky promotion machine will make the fights a success.
Saunders has essentially had the rather car crash (despite the double world champion status) career because of two reasons; he's an ars*hole and Warren is a sh*t promoter. Combine the two and what do you get; a world champion in a leisure centre. There have been plenty of fighters in the UK over the years who people didn't really take to (Khan, Hamed and Eubank spring to mind), but those three were massive in a way Saunders is just nowhere near. Proper promotion might do it but he'll need to be marketed not as some elite boxer, but as a guy you love to hate.
I don't think BJS is an elite fighter because he hasn't proved it yet, you have to regularly get in with the best fighters in your division to do that, we don't even know what division he's in anymore and he's not fought the elite of either. Past their best Lemmy and Lee and scraping an SD against a naive Jnr remain his best victories, he's stunk the place out a lot of other times.
Exactly , so now is his time to prove that he is all the things he thinks he is. That’s the whole point of this whole move. He was never gonna get tested under warren and now he will be.
Tested is a good word here. I don't think he was ever getting tested the way he lived his life, although the one time he was tested was the one time he was truly stepping up, he's only got himself to blame for being such a d**khead, consistently.
Tony - who cares??????? Seriously. You keep saying Warren is a **** promoter and Billy is an arsehole as if it's hurting me in some way A.) Saunders is now with matchroom so Warren is irrelevant in this thread and Billys future. B.) Saunders is a world class boxer with the ability to beat the best. As long as he keeps winning, Hearn will up the competition. Read point A, and then read point B. Then read them both again if it still hasn't gone into your ignorant head. Nothing else matters, NOTHING. If Billy is good enough, this is it. He's going to the top of the sport. If he's not good enough, so be it. At least he'll have had a go. BTW, you may think I'm emotionally attached to Frank Warren in the same weird way you love Eddie Hearn. But the truth is I couldn't care less about the man. I'm a boxing fan, I support the sport and the fighters and it doesn't matter to me who promotes them. In fact, I prefer my favourite fighters to be with Hearn because he generally can deliver more.
As much as I like BJS the boxer, here are the odds of him EVER stepping in the ring with the following opponents: Eubank Jr 2-1 Andrade 10-1 Smith 100-1 Golovkin 10,000-1 Canelo 100,000-1
