Ruiz has already won. He floored Joshua four times and stopped him. He's got three of the four belts. He's already huge. The real paydays need to start now. If Hearn can't deliver paydays for the IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight champion, other promoters and networks can. Sounds like Hearn needs to make this fight by December or the IBF isn't going to wait around. The IBF would support Ruiz-Pulev. And I'm sure Arum and ESPN and Top Rank would pay Ruiz to stay in the U.S. and fight Pulev. And nobody has seen the contract. Did Joshua have a rematch clause or an IMMEDIATE rematch clause. Big difference.
Wilder and Fury both made more than $10 million for their fight, after the PPV money came in. And ESPN signed Fury for more per fight than that. If Ruiz wants more than $9 million, Hearn better pay it. Because others can pay him more and will. I know Hearn wants to keep all that Saudi money for himself and Joshua, but Joshua isn't the champ. The Saudies are paying for a heavyweight title fight. And Ruiz has the titles. Hell, the Saudis might be willing to pay the same amount for Ruiz-Pulev in January or February if the December fight with Joshua falls through. Hearn and Joshua can't seem to grasp the reality of what happened in New York. Some of Joshua's fans apparently don't, either.
It's better that he doesn't get paid too much he's going to be drowning himself in beer and double whoppers as is
I think people are overlooking the fact that as a voluntary (cherry-picked), Andy Ruiz had very little negotiating power in terms of establishing the terms of the contract for the first bout and also regarding the rematch clause. Do you think Eddie Hearn would have hung around and played negotiation tennis with Andy Ruiz? He would have swiftly moved on and Andy Ruiz would have missed out on an already career high purse.
Joshua is only the "Big Name" to the British FanBoy Cuck's, 500 million people in North America could care less about that Roided Frankenstein U.K. Fraud and his Slave Masta Hearn...
He is not getting ripped off at all. He was the B-side (honestly more like an G-side) last minute replacement for a clear A-side fighter and event. He knew going in that if he were to win, the contractual obligation spelled out in terms of a rematch would still favor the A-side fighter. He and his team decided the reward was worth the risk and they came to terms ultimately agreeing. He won. Winning has nothing to do with a contractual obligation that is "already in place". He is still the B-side in this particular instance. He wins the rematch he will then be and A-side and will have much more bargaining power going forward against other opponents. But you can't whine and pout over something you knew going in and already agreed to. It comes off as effeminate and bitchy TBH. And before anyone calls me a Joshua supporter, I don't like Joshua
ikr Burger King baby !!! but in all honesty toney gets a pass from me for the way he looked later on, the guy was in shape at one point of his career... ruiz is just a fat abhorrent mess and always has been
The main factor is Fury , Wilder in the fight against Ortiz earned $2.1 million and Ortiz received a $500,000.
Is there even a difference? I mean would anyone sign on to a rematch without a set time? "You have to rematch us, but whenever you feel like it." How would that make sense? There definitely has to be a set timeline that both camps agreed upon. Otherwise I imagine Ruiz himself would have brought it up.
