I was just re-watching Duran v Palomino and The punches only seemed to travel inches to reach Palomino, it was amazing which fighter ws the best at this?

For a Heavyweight or a big man, Louis was regarded as a great short puncher, they were fast hard and didn't need to travel far !

Louis, Arguello and Napoles are a decent start. All of them had amazing economy of movement and efficiency in their punches. Hardly ever threw anything wide or looping. A peak Curry was pretty awesome in that regard, too.

Napoles would probably be my pick of that bunch, just because he strung it all together so seamlessly. Just wasted nothing. His style was delicate yet vicious at the same time. A joy to watch and possibly the most fitting nickname in the history of the sport.

    Julio deserves a mention.

On a side note, I was really impressed with Cormier's KO of Stipe. Great example of dirty boxing finished by.a sweet short shovel.

Corrales was the first who came to mind. It's truly unbelievable how short, and effortless his power punches were.

The guys with the shortest arms will throw the shortest power punches. It ain’t rocket science to work that out.

Not really. Especially when it comes to hooks and uppercuts. Some guys load up on their punches or throw them with wider arcs than others.

My votes would be for Bobo Olson and Roger Rouse.

I was impressed with J-Rock against Hurd.

Floyd and Toney were great compact punchers on the inside.

Great choices all 3 and it was the 3 I was going to suggest. Prime Tyson also could throw tight precise punches with tremendous power, also prime W.Gomez and Sal Sanchez.
