You're wrong. It's a weird stipulation that isn't typical for a person getting a title shot.

Lol Rumble in the jungle my ass. These guys are not Ali and Frazier.

It’s just a normal rematch involving two regular fighters and whether it be in Saudi Arabia or not, i dont see no missed opportunity.

Contracts can be challenged under the Mohammed Ali act. In fact it is one of the main directives of the Mohammed Ali act.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muhammad_Ali_Boxing_Reform_Act

So if Ruiz, the champion, is only getting 9 mil, while Hearn and AJ pockets the rest of an 80 million pot, then that's an exploitive contract even if everyone signs. All ruiz and his team would need to do is bring it to court. What's more likely to happen is that Hearn will guarantee Ruiz more money so it never gets to that, but that Act will be there for any fighter that believes they were exploited by a promoter.

I'm sure you're right. It will probably be put on at a stupid local time in Saudi of like 1am Sunday so the UK PPV is unaffected. It's the only way this fight can get anywhere near the ~80mn pot Eddie has put out there.

The friendly "Fumble in the Jungle" that Haymon & Hearn created. Lol

Very odd that he's saying these things publically if there's not something in it. Interesting that Ruiz hasn't commented on the social media announcement.

I still think he’s just saying that to get as much out of Hearn and the rematch as possible.

Tell you what, Eddie's a snake but I think Ruiz is the one with the managerial problems. Bet he's not in control of his own gig.

They are trying to escape with the belts so they can do a Wilder fight. I knew Haymon was going to play silly games. He doesn't want the limelight taken away from Wilder-Ortiz because of this 'Clash of the Dunes' Rumble in the Jungle-style narrative.

    Who's running scared now, huh?

Those belts are going nowhere other than back on AJ's shoulder, Haymon!

Of course. No promoter holds a press conference to announce a fight with NEITHER fighter present. Anyone who thought Hearn's BS this week was legit is nuts.

Haymon is gonna play this out and see how far he can take it. If nothing else, this will drive up Andy's purse and mess with AJ's fragile mental state.

There’s also this hard Dec. 7 deadline now to keep the belts together. Eddie will have to find a way to pull it off.
