It’s going to be very interesting.

If Hearn can’t deliver the fight in Saudi is that the end of the road for AJ and matchroom?

The lawyers are grinning and rubbing their hands,
They're telling Ruiz to up his demands,
Whatever the outcome they know they'll get paid,
As the hopes of a fight are starting to fade,

I love this “end of matchroom” thing, have you seen their stable? It’s very very good.

I actually think this might be what Hearn wants and that whole press conference was done deliberately. He kept repeating in interviews how “I’ve wrote to all the governing bodies who have accepted this fight to go ahead”, if Ruiz isn’t playing ball PBC will ultimately lose the belts. Pulev/TR will win the IBF and Usyk/Matchroom will win the WBO.

Very interesting to see how this is gonna play out. Most likely solution is Hearn doubles what they’re giving Ruiz and this all goes ahead.

I think that's probably the case. If Ruiz really wanted out of this fight he could have played the human rights card and won a lot of sympathy. He just wants a larger slice of the pie and is in a decent negotiating position after the IBF upped the pressure on Hearn to deliver this fight by Dec 7. It's interesting Ruiz said nothing publicly until that stipulation was made...

Why can’t fights just get made these days, been weeks waiting for any kind of announcement and still nothing seems solid. All we have is Hearn talking his usual drivel at a weird press conference, it really is a joke.

Like a little child saying NOOOOOO... but finally ends up doing it.

It's growing as well. And they do about 3 shows every month. Soon those cards will truly be stacked as more talent signs on.
They signed Saunders, Usyk, Parker, Hughie, Bakole, Estrada, Gassiev, Haney, Hunter, Sor Rungvisai and Bivol. That's some really solid names from all over the place.

So I'm guessing these belts will all go vacant and Ruiz career will be stalled whilst he's being sued. I really liked this guy in the immediate aftermath, thought he came across as likeable and humble, but he's either being badly advised or the recent fame has completely gone to his head. Either way, seems like a dumb move, as he'll likely end up with nothing.

Andy Ruiz would win in court

The contract he signed for the rematch was unlawful. There is legislation protecting anyone, including boxers, of signing exploitative contracts. How is it fair that Ruiz as a champion gets a 10% split and has to go to Saudi Arabia? Sounds like exploitation to me.

Not sure that's the case, as he entered into the contract voluntarily in the first place as a voluntary defence and agreed to all facets of that contract. Don't really see anything unlawful about that, just like in any place of work there will be people doing the same role and being payed at opposite ends of the market rate, then there will be specialists within that field eclipsing both.

I'll ask my wife, she's a lawyer... lol
