THE WAR ZONE II: Revisiting Classics, Revisited (It's Just Like Déjà Vu All Over Again!)

Well we've now run plum out of fights that received any love in the original poll (Uzcátegui vs. López having been at the bottom of those getting any votes, with just the 1)...and so, while I hadn't intended upon opening the floor to requests, I'll definitely consider squeezing this one in, as I did for Whitaker vs. Hurtado (although in that case it was partially due to a vacancy becoming available with Rahman vs. Puritty getting mysteriously scrubbed off YouTube, and partially just seemed apt in the wake of Pea's departure from this realm). I'm not faithfully wedded to any of the zero-vote candidates, although I was looking forward to dissecting each of them.

Maybe this second run can end up extended to a dozen, instead of ten like the first series. Then, if Rock & The Boss resurface, all the better.

(sorry, it was my best attempt squeezed into my one hour of free time yesterday before passing out to start another 5am day; admittedly not my best work, rushed & hackneyed as it was...ordinarily I like to piece together more of a cohesive narrative, but ...you rub zee lamp, you get your wish, at least some form of it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )

 

...alright, people, to be clear, before this devolves into a helter-skelter free-for-all, I am not a little wind-up monkey; I never claimed or wanted to be taking requests. I did so for @roughdiamond because 1) he asked nicely, b) proposed a good fight, and iii) my index happened to have another opening anyway*, so I was happy to kick it "fo' da peeps" on a 1-time, first-come-first-served basis.

These aren't something I typically just wag my ***** and dribble off; I generally have the framework of what I want to say at least in my head long before the day of publishing.

*seguing into a little housekeeping note: Arthur Grigorian vs. Antonio Pitalua was, like Rahman vs. Puritty, up on YouTube when I made this index thread, but has since been taken down and is now available online strictly via registration on some German website (and, uh... nein, danke) so Tats vs. Sing has effectively taken its place, just as Whitaker vs. Hurtado replaced the heavyweights.
