Why the hell would they, or anybody in their position, give Ruiz, say, an extra 10m, like you are suggesting?
It would be utterly stupid to do so.
Ruiz accepted 7.5m. They, or anybody else, would give them millions more just to ‘treat him like a champ’ lol.

Your bias when AJ involved is catastrophic, it’s your blindness as I genuinely don’t believe you even recognise how biased you actually are, at least, regarding AJ.

Then he shouldn't have signed it.

Then AJ shouldn't have lost to a fighter who has Haymon's experience and influence behind him to hold the slave clause to account. This is chicken and egg stuff.

A few fights ago Ruiz was thinking of quitting boxing.

He gets selected and given an opportunity of a lifetime to fight the number one heavyweight, and one of the biggest names in the sport, for multiple belts, and for by farrrr career high payday... but... since he hasnt earned a large fanbase himself yet, nor was a mandatory, he agreed to take this huge opportunity at the exchange of, if he wins, he will have catipulted himself into the mainstream, and into the top tier of the division, and will be the champion... but, he will still be the B side in the rematch.

Now... all of a sudden he wins, and he not only doesn't want to honor that agreement, now... 9 million dollars, which is multides more than him and his entire family have made in their careers thus far to date, combined, is now not enough money.

    Madness.

This despite the fact AJ is still bringing the vast majority of the money to this fight.

Nah... this is diva stuff, imo. All for a fight he's arguably favored to win, too.

They're both devils, neither Haymon or Hearn have cornered any kind of market for being virtuous saints. As far as your point goes, what if Ruiz doesn't win the rematch? Will many huge paychecks await him in the future? Also, concern of a robbery isn't egregious at all. He took the match at the last minute, pulled a monumental upset of epic proportions. At the very least, let him have his way on a few things, in the end, is the extra money Hearn might have to pay to Ruiz Jr. worth potentially losing out on all the cash from the rematch itself? Or the cash he'll lose with a long drawn out contract dispute? Give the man some extra cash. This is epic, Eddie should treat it as such, insetead of being a petty money grubbing sleazebag that we all know he is anyway.

If the shoe was on the other foot and it was AJ begging for extra cash, I have a feeling your opinion would change.

Just pay Ruiz the money he deserves not what he signed up for beforehand.

If he's getting 9 mil and AJ is getting 50+, it's ridiculous.

I see Ruiz as the type that's happy to sit on the sidelines and not fight if he's not happy with the terms.

He's the champ, he's the man, he's the A-side. AJ quit like a little *****. God forbid he might want a little extra money. We all know AJ's going to be paid a **** ton, how about asking this question... why should he? When someone proved they could take his best punch, and keep coming forward, he mentally folded, he shown no heart, he took the easy way out, his stock dropped, he shouldn't even get a rematch based on his performance in the first fight. It was that pathetic. That matches outcome wasn't a fluke, it was an utter domination. Andy fought like the champ, and took his soul like one. AJ is a ruined fighter, and they're scrambling, trying to make sure Ruiz gets shafted, and AJ gets it all, because they know AJ loses the rematch and becomes an irrelevant afterthought.

Ruiz made this rematch worth $85M....so it is still a rip off to give him 10%

It's not only Joshua now that's drawing, Ruiz became a star overnight and people want to see him beat up Joshua again.

Whatever he signed is BS, the whole game changed now. I do hope they give him more respect as a champ than 10% of the purse.

from my understanding, it was GIVEN to another brit, who was too busy juicing to fit it into his schedule, along with others. with the prospect of losing many millions of dollars, they needed to find someone who could save the show. ruiz, a guy who is a legit top 10, who has fought successfully in the top level, was able to save the show... boy did he ever.

    Just a reminder:

Haymon is willing let his fighters be inactive but is not willing to let them get shafted when they do fight.

The cowards here are Hearns & AJ. They thought Ruiz would be easy pickings & a great show off US debut for AJ.... WRONG !!!!! Ruiz systematically beat the **** out of AJ & embarrassed him
LEGITIMATELY!! As the champ Ruiz should have the choice of venue at least fot the rematch.
Dont mention Ruiz being offered 10 % split THAT IS INSULTING!! 60/40 in Ruiz favor seems about right to me Man Up AJ You talk the talk Lets see you walk the walk

Its not even close to chicken and egg stuff.

If you think Ruiz has a legal chance at not honoring the terms of the contract he signed, I have a feeling youre in for an awakening.

What Ruiz is trying to do has been tried before, and has failed miserably. And will likely cost him time and money.

I guess we will see though.

Is AJ more concerned about making so much more than Ruiz or does he actually want to avenge his only lost?

Give the man at least 30% and make the fight happen.
